| Interesting info- thanks Dzana. #articleTitle# | #genre# | BigPond News except: Tuzkoy's inhabitants are believed to have inhaled fibers of the mineral erionite in stones and paints they used to build homes as well as in roads and fields. end excerpt The Villagers are ill from the inhaled fibers of the mineral erionite: Erionite - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Fair use excerpts: Erionite is a naturally occurring fibrous mineral that belongs to a group of minerals called zeolites. It usually is found in volcanic ash that has been altered by weathering and ground water. Erionite forms brittle, wool-like fibrous masses in the hollows of rock formations and has an internal molecular structure similar to chabazite. Some properties of erionite are similar to the properties of asbestos; end excerpt: Carcinogenicity Erionite is known to be a human carcinogen and is listed by the International Agency for Research on Cancer as a Group 1 Carcinogen. end excerpt: Exposure Deposits of fibrous erionite are located in Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, and Utah. These zeolite beds may be up to 15 feet thick and may lie in surface outcroppings. Erionite fibers have been detected in samples of road dust in Nevada and U.S. residents of the Intermountain West may be potentially exposed to fibrous erionite in ambient air.[4][10] In the summer of 2009 North Dakota began a study of possible erionite exposure among residents.[11] Erionite has also been identified in samples from the Tertiary Arikaree Formation in southeast Montana and northwest South Dakota. end www.mindat.org/photo-14231.html end excerpts The crystals are Hexagonal... sounding familiar ?

| My mom was diagnosed with Stage IIIB AND Stage I adenocarcinoma last week... The Stage I cancer is in the other lung - so she may really have Stage IV if it metastasized to the other lung .... She turned 76 on Tuesday - what a miserable birthday present. She started chemo Thursday - Taxol/Carboplatin/Avastin... We have no idea what to expect, but do know that 60% of lung cancer patients will die within the 1st year. Last week I couldn't stop crying (because I spent the week with her, going to the dr. and hearing all the bad news). This week I'm back home again and less tearful. I want to spend as much time as I can with her now.. and have my kids spend time with her too. I also liked this blog very much where the breast cancer treatment & metastatic breast cancer options were discussed. Hope it helps people struggling with breast cancer. |

| I am so sorry to hear your news about your mom. I am glad you have a positive attitude about enjoying what time you do have with her. Life is very precious. It is at times such as these that we realize just how precious. Try not to listen to what doctors say too closely for as you have already found out it can cause depression and the feeling of being helpless. Whatever the outcome your support as well as your children's will help your mom through this most difficult of times and will eventually bring all of you some peace. I pray for a better outcome than expected. Keep us posted as I know many here will support you during this challenging time. tcm ![]()
