Thank you Diane Sawyer, apparently the only liberal reporter so far to do a hard ball interview with Al Gore. Sawyer even got him to respond to some comments by Glenn Beck which involved forcing Gore to admit he is not vegan and still eats meat. Good work Sawyer for revealing the hypocrisy behind much of what passes for environmental concerns when truly the motive behind this movement is personal/corporate profit and control of governments at the expense of ordinary citizens. Good Morning America’s Diane Sawyer conducted a surprisingly tough interview with Al Gore on Tuesday, pressing him on profiting from global warming and whether or not climate change legislation is pointless in light of pollution-spewing countries such as China. She also forced the ex-Vice President to respond to a challenge from Glenn Beck.

Sawyer even pointed out the amount of methane gas created from the bodily functions [1] of cows, observing that it's "20 times more damaging it is than CO2." The host, who will become the anchor of World News in January, then played a clip of Fox News' Beck mocking Gore:

GLENN BECK: I'm siding with PETA on this one. Once again asking Al Gore if you really want to save the planet, Al, why don't you put down the cheeseburger and pick up the veggie burger? Time for, maybe, soy milk and tofurkey.

GORE: [Laughs]: Well, you know, there is a serious issue about the connection between the growing meat intensity of diets around the world and damage to the environment. That is a legitimate issue. And like a lot of people, I eat less meat now than I used to. I'm not a vegetarian, don't plan to become one, but it's a healthy choice to eat more vegetables than fruits. So it's not a laughable issue.

"So, tofurkey for you," she jibed.

Speaking of the upcoming global warming conference in Copenhagen and of China’s environmental record, Sawyer quizzed, "And everyone keeps saying, how can go and have the U.S. commit to controls when China is not doing the same thing? What's the point?" After Gore ducked the question and touted the country’s solar power facilities, the ABC host tried again: "But they're still the major polluter on CO2."

Finally, the anchor highlighted a front page story in the November 3 New York Times [1] on how some critics accuse Gore of profiting from climate change: "But they [the New York Times] say you are about to become, perhaps, the world's first carbon billionaire because of the amounts of money that you've made from your investments, from your green investment."

Sawyer certainly should be commended for being far tougher than CBS Evening News host Katie Couric. As the MRC’s Brent Baker [1] noted, she enthused on CBSNews.com: "I'm honored to be joined today by the Godfather of Green, the King of Conservation: Former Vice President Al Gore."

Meanwhile it looks like Gore plans to continue to eat meat. If it gets too expensive for most people to purchase, well that is a good thing because it leaves more for him and his wealthy cohorts to consume. He is already very wealthy and stands to become more so if this legislation passes.

I am sure Lord Monckton was glad to see that any one at all has been able to confront Al Gore and his global warming nonsense. I will look at these videos you posted tomorrow, but I am sure they are both interesting. Monckton is very bright and is very popular on some of the TV talk shows in the US where he did discuss the sovereignty issue and also told the audience about a website where folks can try to stop the loss of US sovereignty by signing a petition against it on: WEBCommentary - commentary, politics, news .

It was on one of these shows that I heard him express a desire to debate Gore on the issue of global warming, but so far Gore has been as elusive as ever in allowing anyone to confront him on the issues. I am pretty sure Gore did not know what Sawyer was going to ask him or this interview would never have taken place. It will be interesting to see if he ever again will consent to an interview by Sawyer on any issue.I am fairly sure that the global warming interviews are now at an end as far as Gore and this reporter. So few are willing to ask serious questions of those who want to control different countries that it is nearly a miracle when a reporter who is a liberal does not fear to ask at least some hardball questions.

, Carla, now we know who's responsible for global warming which to me is open to debate, though we all know Gore does not want any debate. Just show him the money.

Listening to Lord Monckton and listening to him describe the communist takeover of Greenpeace (where the original founders left) and other environmental organizations which should open questions about Gore's leanings.

Yes, it is pretty scary Carla and why to remain free country people in the US must remain on their toes. To quote Thomas Jefferson, the third US president:

"The price of freedom is eternal vigilance."

Please everyone, let us all do what we can to see that the US remains a sovereign and free republic, unhampered by those who seek power and control over the masses. I hope we do not lose sight of this in the weeks and months ahead (from Statue of Liberty plaque):
