Yeah, Carla, there are real threats to freedom in the West everywhere. I am delighted to read in the article on your link that there are folks who do not think this way and are prepared to fight this type of action. I hope we can extend it to the medical arena as well. A quote from this link:

I bet home schooling is next on the list for abolishment. No, you cannot teach isms in the home where isms are rejected as taking away freedom and liberty.

All who oppose this type of regimentation need to consider joining in with other like minded folks and start to work against this flagrant power grab by the state to take away parental rights, a blatant effort by governments to control their population from cradle to grave. This is "ism" at its worst, no matter whether it is left "ism" or right "ism." The West has allowed this type of interference in personal lives to evolve over years. First in the US it was national income tax and the right not to wage wars outside the sphere of influence. Then it was Social Security along with spending by the government to create depression era jobs artificially which only prolonged the depression to ten years (remember that those who do not know history are bound to repeat it as we see now in the US). Arriving in the US now the final power grab by government for total family control along with electronic medical records which will do away with any privacy and allow those in power to decide who is worth care and who isn't. It is a world where youth will rule (ah, yes, Lord of the Flies) and elders are shifted to the side to die off (perhaps put on ice floes to drift away, leaving the world to those better fit to survive?), as their thinking will be viewed as abhorrent and out of date (reference this in Gore's speech). I think this next is a good quote:

So it is time to sit down, write letters and join in with others to try to stop this. Mainly it would be helpful not to elect those who will only perpetuate this sort of flagrant power grab to control others and to gain riches. Alas, that appears not to be true for the most part today. Anger, though, is a useful tool if channeled wisely.

Well i must have missed your long post above carla....but hey the simple solution to it is do what I did.Drop the child onto the SS's toes let them sort the mess out they made and the parent just walks away and rediscovers her life.If many parents did this..the SS would soon be begging folks to take the brats back.
My answer would be a resounding Noooooooooo of course.No TV,no kids what a great peaceful life.|LOL
