It certainly is a lot of money....seems my priorities have changed drastically with Morgs. I was so excited when the steam cleaner came you'd think I got a new car How sad .We have mold issues around our windows (the house has the original windows from when it was built in the 70's). I have a construction company coming in to replace them in a few weeks and I brought up my concerns about the mold. I wanted to make sure he would replace everything surrounding the window if needed and he said that he works with a mold specialist and she uses natural green products and he would get in touch with her when they start working here. If the mold under the window ledge is bad and in the sheetrock he will replace it. I'm going to try to skirt around the Morgellons issue, but since I am going to be paying for her services I am not going to feel bad asking her to take some samples. I just hope she knows in depth mold stuff rather than typical house mold. Keeping my fingers crossed. Anyway its going to be a few weeks but if she is helpful in anyway I'll let you guys know. --In an off topic addition to my post here, my mother called me a little while ago and said she found black specks in a brand new bag of potato chips and fibers. She couldn't believe it. Then she said "guess what its fried in?"....Cottonseed oil. They are using it in everything these days. I bought a thing of plantar's cashews which I used to love and they tasted weird and smelled off. I then noticed they had changed to cottonseed oil. Cottonseed oil in animal feed and our food has always baffled me. Since when do we eat cotton?!!!!

I had a mycologist come to my recently rebuilt home, I lived here for 8-9 months after reconstruction (9 years prior) before my symptoms started although when I look back now... I had many bizarre physical symptoms for at least 8 years not to mention 2 major floods in the basement, a third just before we moved out for the rebuild. She did not find anything much but made some recommendations, one of which caught me off guard. She said to never steam clean your carpets, I have 2 that I cleaned the living daylights out of at my onset. She also said to never store stuff in cardboard boxes, always put your storage stuff (decorations, valuables, papers etc) in plastic airtight tubs. I personally find plastic and airtight to be an oxymoron. The two rugs are area rugs and can be replaced. I still have stuff in my storeroom in cardboard, hell I am still trying to do the laundry from my linen closets, nevermind my every day stuff! This is a wild and crazy ride we are on and none of us have identical symptoms so who knows?? Just throwing those two fun facts for ya!

I can totally relate to your linen closet laundry backup. I have been trying to catch up with laundry...the clothes from my son's dresser, the linen closets now I have to wash winter clothes that have been stored away...not to mention I don't use anything...clothing or towels twice. I want to do dog beds and our beds and in the midst of this my Morgs related ADD came by and convinced me that I needed to steam clean all of the cloth lined wicker baskets that house toys in the playroom and the toys. Somehow my house is in total chaos and I feel so unmotivated and overwhelmed by the to-do list I have. Sorry to hear that the mycologist wasn't able to help much. And I agree I haven't found plastic tubs to be airtight. The clothes I put in them seem well protected but they are hardly airtight. With the way the specks float and stick to things (especially plastic I've noticed) they could make their way in probably. Heck they're in our skin somehow.

Well here are 2 quickies I can help with!! YAY! Lose the willow baskets with the cloth liners! Spray any straw type baskets with enzymes if you MUST keep them and just toss the liners. Put your linens in see thru 35 gallon clear plastic bags with twist ties. (Costco for me). The other thing that I did was mark my bags with sticky notes as to their contents and I tried to store them near to where they used to be kept in my normal life. Makes it a little less confusing. On sad note I have thrown out thousands of dollars worth of stuff that we were all attached to for whatever reasons. I really wish I had not gotten so carried away! Can't really think of anything material that I really miss. The one thing I really miss is my freedom!!!

Thanks Lamb, I steam cleaned the toys only to come home one night to my son with the toys out of the temporary large ziplock bags all over the floor, so now I am in garbage mode! I could have died right there...it was sooooo much work doing each toy only to come home and see it all undone. I agree with your advice, I am going to throw the baskets out and the liners...or maybe save the baskets up in the storage area in those XXXL Ziplock Bags. I like your idea about the bags for clothing too. Thanks! I've decided to downsize, the only bad thing is that my husband is totally oblivious and careless. I'm sure he thinks I'm a nut, so I've stopped bringing it up...but getting him to downsize is going to be impossible...at least without a matchstick LOL.

Oh go for it! My hubby had so much crud that I got rid of, he finally admitted later that he had no idea what I got rid of and he couldn't possibly miss it. Thank God for small favors.
