Default Does anyone have a bloated face???

Can anyone tell me if they have got or had a bloated face with this disease??
I ask because today I saw a friend that I haven't seen for some time. She is vegetarian and I was shocked that her face was so bloated and her stomach too.She was a very slim person, and suddenly this great weight gain. She is just 40 and her doctor says its her age.DOH.I have noticed for some years she has had a cough (non smoker) which she puts down to a type of nervous cough. She seems to be having symtoms of IBS??? but I am wondering.............

Hi Pat! From some of the case studies I have read and from my own experience with a sick friend, I don't think bloating is a "common or major symptom" of morgellons per say.

But Bloating is a sneaky devil and can arise from various reasons. Also it can come and go depending the cause.

A Few Reasons:

Mineral imbalance
To much salt or to little
Lack of exercise
Bad circulation

Righto Franky and I totally agree.

Bloating can be symptomatic of so many things. Wouldn't it be great if we had difinitive answers....

But we do not.

The more I research, the more I know that the more there is to know.

But I will say this thingie.

I don't believe life has been evolved to the point of misunderstanding and misinterpretation without the help of mankind (and I use the 'kind' part loosly) We are dealing with that which we have no clue of and it gets worse and worse as we dig deeper and deeper.

Having said that ditty, I'll continue to say that I really believe all of this is grossly brought to the point of being never ever understood unless there is a possibility we can get back to basics.

With the advent of bioengineering, I have little hope, but in all honesty, I believe we will, in fact overcome. If not, then hold onto your bootstraps, my friends, 'cause we are in for a ride of your lifetime, if you so deserve.

xoxo

Thanks for that Franky.I myself haven't had a bloated face, and couldn't remember anyone posting on here about it.So would think you are right about it not being a particular symptom of this.
She does do a lot of exercise though and is very active with her rescued animals. She doesn't have circulation probs,so maybe an imbalance of minerals.
I certainly don't think the doc is right about it being her age!!

Cushing syndrome can cause the face to have a moon shaped or bloated appearance and it also can cause enlargement of the abdomen. Could be worth ruling out.

Surprising Causes of Weight Gain

"Cushing's Syndrome

Cushing's Syndrome is a disorder caused by an excess of the hormone cortisol. Fat accumulates in the face, abdomen and upper back, often producing a characteristic rounded "moon" face and "buffalo hump". The arms and legs usually remain slender.

Other symptoms of Cushing's Syndrome include muscle wasting and weakness, thin skin, poor wound healing, easy bruising, purple "stretch marks" on the abdomen, menstrual irregularities, high blood pressure, glucose intolerance and hair loss in women."

Hormonal changes can also trigger water weight gain in the body and may also effect some organs like the adrenals and the thyroid, slowing metabolism even more than just declining female hormones might. The eyes may become puffy with thyroid malfunction and puffy weight often follows around the mid section as well. Women often develop hypothyroidism around the age of menopause. In Chinese medicine this all ties into the spleen function which slows as we age and even more so if the thyroid and/or adrenals are not in balance. This can effect the face with apparent swelling as well as other swelling other areas of the body. IBS as you mention can cause bloat too. I guess technically the doctor is right in that the slowing of the metabolism could be causing your friend to gain some "water" weight, but not checking out some common causes for bloating which are not just part of the normal again process seems rather casual to say the least, especially since the bloat is not all over the body.

That's interesting. I was gonna say that people on steroids often have a bloated face. Some types include the hormone cortisol.

Good work...we're still learning

I have bloated face sometimes, and I weigh 114. My eyes get puffy. My intestines and bladder hurt. I feel like Im pregnant ya know? The anles get swollen too, and I dont like that, cause I gotta move or Ill go crazy!

I get emotional problems more at this time too. I know Im poison, or my spleen and kidneys arent keeping up with the toxins.

At these times I consider what Ive been eating for sugars, cause the Fungus may be populating. The bacterias, and I believe there at least 2 types that invade. One responds to a Mycin drug and one responds to Flaggyl.

ANyway. Yes I get it. I can see it on my childrens faces too. They are adults and dont live with me so when I see them I notice the changes more.

Lots of water and getting the kidneys to work more. Fresh air. Showers with a good body scrub to allow toxins out of system through the skin.
Its all about our organs not working when it comes to bloated face.

BUT, if your white or grey or green and look quite dishelved you need a hospital, seriously. Lack of oxegen.

I know many who have Morgs with bloatedeness!
Sorry I havent written, been busy. But I read here.

Hi Pat & All,

Not sure if I should reply to this as its dated last July? Someone tell me if Im too slow to be replying? And hope I'm not repeating others .
I know all about bloating. My face (whole head) has been so bloated, my DL picture taken 7/17/04 doesnt even resemble me. I showed the Dr. my licence and he was shocked. He thinks it must be from the 20-40 mgs daily Prednisone I've been on for about 5 years for the pain from RA and Asthma. (I'm down to 10mg qd now)
I also gained alot of weight the past year. My "OLD" Dr. thought it was age related.
But then............ they removed 32 lbs of fluid from around my heart when I spent a week in ICU the last time! Diag. congestive heart failure, I'm back down to the 130 lbs I've normally weighed. Instant weight loss! It was incredible, lol!
Have you seen your friend again Pat?
Guess I was thinking, there seems to be many causes of bloating and perhaps we need to insist the Dr. investigate till we know what it is? I'm lucky to be alive!
(For best results with Dr, don't take a bag of specimens with you , lol)

luv ya, wth
