| Does anyone know if D-S-P cream will kill scabies? Probably not, but I was just curious. Thanks.

| I would NOT expect it to, from the knowledge that I have about ingredients, and what I know about scabies, However, I actually have NEVER tried anything other than pharmaceutical-type scabies treatments, so I do NOT know what type of essential oils or homeopathic meds are most indicated for their treatment. Nor have I talked with anyone who has done a clinical trial for this--SO, I wouldn't give it an absolute "no"--only a theoretical "unlikely."

| I have been unable to get rid of my mom's itching and when I would rub cream on her, my hand broke out in a rash and was so itchy also. Now today, I see what I believe to be scabie tunnels on the sides of my fingers. I am pretty sure my mom has norweigeon scabies now because when I started bathing her, I found a lot of crusting behind her knees, sides and even lower back. Not knowing what it was, I put all kind of things on her and a lot of the crusting is gone, but not all. Beverly, could you please tell me how to go about this. My mom has alzheimer's and must have suffered from itching for a long time by the looks of it, possibly a year or more. She's at home and 86 years old. She also has morgellons and I think she must have gotten these from me, since I had morgellons first. I had gone and got cream back then, but really didn't know what scabies were. Someone told me that you can go blind from ivermectin, which I see is used to treat this kind of scabie and since she is elderly, I don't know what to do. I can't get her to the doctor, she won't go and my brother won't make her because he doesn't want to upset her. Because she doesn't walk well because of her broken hip, I can't do it myself. Can you give me any advice or information? I think these mites have gone inside doing havoc, is that possible? I don't know how to approach this with any doctor because I see the thick skin and crust, but possibly the only burrows could be on the lower leg where it looks very lined and scaly. I really need help. Thanks, Snow. |

| Try, Calamine Lotion or what works good is Permethrin Cream. Don`t forget to clean everything, mostly bed sheets. I found they infect more at at night when you are sleeping. Good luck! |

| Hi String Bean, I have never tried calamine lotion for the itching but why not, I've tried so many other things. I wrote to moms doctor today, but he never called me. I hope he doesn't think I'm crazy as I wrote a 7 page letter listing all the problems she is having and how she has been suffering a long time and needs treatment for many different things that have been neglected for years now. Maybe I offended him, but I was just thinking of my mom. I used permethian cream when I first got this disease, the derms didn't know what else to do as I was complaining of itching. It did help. Unfortunately, I need a doctor to prescribe it and maybe it's just my town, but doctors don't want to look, they stay across the room and say they don't see anything. Thanks for the tips. Snow |

| Snow-When YOUR hand also broke out in a rash after treating your Mom, what did you do? how did you treat it? did it clear up with that care and treatment? If you were able to heal your OWN hand, then you should be able to use the SAME treatments on your MOM--the big problem is cooperation & persistence. How do you get peroxide soaks & other treatments onto her legs? How often can you get her to bathe, and put on creams and ointments, etc. There won't be a magic pill to just just make these go away, or a simple one-time cream, I am thinking, because it probably ISN'T scabies... hard to say without seeing her, though. I recommend that she needs a good doctor in person, actually. I don't think that the mites or scabies are inside doing anything worse than the Morgellons' does; that's for sure. It is really the main culprit to worry most about in an elderly person.
