| I am quite shocked you would say such things about Obama. I am not a supporter, but surely do not hold the views about him that you seem to be supporting about him here. I just do not think that the earth is going through a period of global warming. My belief that the world is cooling off, rather than warming, does not make my belief system less than main stream any more than believing the way you do makes your belief system less than mainstream. We simply do not have the same beliefs about what is happening. Quote:

| It is a pretty broad assumption to conclude that all people who do not support Obama would believe this sort of outlandish nonsense that only a few are saying about him. BTW, speaking of destructive and foolish, what was said about Bush when he was in office was also destructive and foolish.

| It's an ever broader assumption to say that I think all people who don't support him think that. What I said was I know people who do - and you know that too. I don't want to get into another endless debate. You know very well some people think some pretty outlandish things about an awful lot of different people. Have the last word. I'm done. SS |

| I'm not sure if I need to ask for permission to chime in but I'll take the risk, I'll admit that at first I was one of those completely opposed to the idea of Obama as president but I'm slowly coming around to at least giving him a chance, I'm beginning to believe that he actually might be sincere in his efforts, does this earn me brownie points with you hard core libs? |

| By posting about people who do not support global warming by sarcastically (your definition) posting a long string of utter nonsense about Obama you implied that every person on this thread who believes the opposite about global warming is some sort of nut case or weirdo and believes this nonsense about Obama. So no, this is about a lot more than saying you know people who do have such ideas about him. And you know that too. By discussing Obama, as if he were the main subject in this thread prior to your post, you also changed the subject away from the issue being discussed, global warming vs cooling. Neat trick. One mostly likely learned from watching those in government today. If you have no good argument, change the subject. Then attack those who disagree. Next, if you can, try to goad them into responding angrily which completely changes the subject if you are successful. The other reason this sort of tact is taken is to prevent any more posting about global cooling. This is accomplished by employing this very sort of diversion. Make people who are against global warming look crazy by saying something like you did in that sarcastic post. Then, fearing that they will be seen as weird or crazy, people will no longer post about global cooling. If this still does not work, if challenged deny you were saying that. Nice try. I await your reply, as I have heard all this before: “Have the last word” and “I am done” stuff. It seems your last words most nearly always lead to a lot more. Quote:

| I think i said I was done here too, but NOT! Did you know Obama has endorsed Monsanto? Obama picks MONSANTO guy as head of agriculture... This'll be some interesting change, won't it? : politics Obama appoints Monsanto fox to guard food safety hen house I didn't vote for Obama... but that has nothing to do with what is going on now. We need to wake up to what is happening to our planet, agriculture, insurance (why does everyone need medical insurance now when no one had a plan 30/40 years ago? Are we any healthier now? NO! We take prescription drugs prescribed by the MDs who work for insurance companies promoting not health care, but prescription care!) Phew, I needed to rant. Speaking of global warming... did you know that 83% of the cost of food goes to packaging and transportation (gas)? we should try to support our local farmers markets and buy produce/fruit when it was in season. I just finished reading this book Animal, Vegetable, Miracle Has anyone else read it? Itwl, ~jonsi

| I don't know what all the fuss is about. Why are these things continued to the point of ad naseum? No one needs permission to interject thoughts, (I'd be gone long ago if that were the case )...but I saw SS's statement as TOTAL sarcasm since her position on Obama has been posted here many times....Okay...so ONE vote that it was SARCASM! I think I'll move on now to more important subjects regarding Morgellons. KRITTERS |

Anyway, it was a very informative book. So much money is spent having food shipped in from other countries, (fuel, packaging, etc.) and by the time it gets here, it's depleted of nutrients anyway! BUY LOCAL!!! BUY LOCAL!!! grow your own in POTS if necessary! Buy in the summer and FREEZE. By the way, the little round stickers on fruits and veggies at the supermarket indicate whether genetically altered, organic or commercially produced. At least that's a start! Did You Know ?: Numbers on Stickers found on Fruit and VegetablesDid You Know KRITTERS |

| very interesting Kritts! I think the organic banana code is 94110? -------------------------------------------------------------------- Any fruit or vegetable that has a sticker that starts with the number four (4) means it's commercially produced and NOT organic. Any fruit or vegetable that has a sticker that starts with the number eight ( 8 ) means the fruit was GENETICALLY ALTERED Any fruit or vegetable that has a sticker that starts with nine the number (9) means it's ORGANICALLY GROWN and instead of four numbers total on the label they have five numbers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stay away from "8"! Thanks, ~jonsi
