Default strongyloides stercoralis

I have had a parasite in my system since I was 5 years old. I am now 35 and finally getting better.

When I was a child, my uncle invited me to live on his farm in Argentina. Apparently this parasite is incredibly common there. Here in the civilised world, it's unheard of.

Doctors just blow you off when you tell them something that is outside of their ability to diagnose and treat. That is their job. They can't figure everything out for you, because they don't have the time. I used to get frustrated, and even angry, but I understand now. They usually have thousands of patients.

There are specialists in parasites.

Ok, so my symptoms:
  • diarrhoea
  • running nose
  • phlegm
  • coughing
  • itchy skin
  • cloudy thinking

Easy to think it's just allergies or something. Strange thing is, allergies shouldn't have any reason to improve when you eat a lot of raw garlic. hmmm.

Accurate diagnosis:
Started collecting and inspecting poop in glass jars and ziplock bags (disgusting). Eventually found some worms in there and identified them on a website using a microscope. After 30 years, yay. fricken yay.

Once they were identified, treatment was easy. Ivermectin every day for 5 days. No big deal.

No more colds laying in bed with phlegm draining out of my nostrils like a stream of honey. No more rashes covering my entire body and making me feel like I was just attacked by a pile of fire ants in my sleep. No more days on the toilet thinking, "my baby gets to spend her childhood watching me poop, fantastic".

If anyone has any questions, ask away. I know a lot about parasites and herbal treatments and stuff. Maybe some of the things that helped me through the last 30 years could help other people.

What color were the worms? Can you describe them, please?

So Jeb, could you tell us what kind of doctor you actually saw in Somalia? Or are you just stationed there currently? I noticed the UK spelling of diarrhea (i.e. diarrhoea) you had in your post. You mention parasitologists. I think we are aware of them and many might have tried that route if one had been available to see. Did you yourself ever have access to one? Finding one in the US is like looking for that proverbial needle in the haystack.

Default yeh.

I have learned a little about Morgellons after finding this site. It sounds horrible.

The worms were tiny (.5mm-2.5mm) and brown or white. They only showed up in the poop.

This parasite lives inside the body and only shows up in the poop during one of it's life cycles. It's sporadic, so it doesn't show up on most tests unless you check many different samples are specifically looking for it.

I contracted it in Argentina and it lives mostly in the respiratory and lymph systems

It has been horrendous. frustrating. scary. depressing. ugly. I have been on the edge of suicide so many times. I can only imagine what you are going through.

In the microcope slides, the male worms show up with a bifuscated tail, which is what gave them away.

I have passed very small brown, and light-colored worms on several occasions in the past. I described them as "seed-like".

Default stages

The differing appearances may well be due to the stage of development that it's in.I have some early pics to compare with.

Unhappy Strongyloides Stercoralis

Jeb,

I have had a horrible itching rash for almost 5 months. It started when I quit eating wheat. I think the damn things got hungry and migrated to my skin. Muscle aches are gone but I truly am at the brink of suicide. I can't take it anymore. I have taken ivermectin 4 times and they are still with me. They are in my urine and stool samples (take these myself). Less but just when I think it is over they are back. Seems I just can't kill the eggs. I've taken the iver 7 days apart. Afraid I am breeding resistant strain. Doctors are no help even though I have very clear direct skin microscopy of the worm. Maybe not stercoralis but it is definitely strongyloides of some kind. Very tiny approx .07 -.09 mm and the most clearly seen are blue. Some are pink and some are white. Eggs on the skin (mostly my back near kidneys). Nothing seems to kill the eggs. Dr. dxd scabies but there ARE NO SCABIES visible at all. Lindane didn't slow them down much. I haven't touched a living soul in 5 months. Getting ready to get rid of the cat although I love her and have had her 11 years. Have wormed her but don't dare touch her either! I am just so sad and tired and getting very very depressed and feel like they are everywhere. Working at the office is a nightmare. Was going to get married this summer and go to Greece. That is not going to happen now. If I only had hope that I could get rid of this. I am not a nut. No history of mental illness. But I am now coming unglued. Tonight I thought I would just get in the car and drive and leave everything and everyone behind. But where would that get me? Stupid idea. What can you tell me? Thanks for posting here. K
