It seems the stage is set for the Book of Revelation. With the die off of bats, the insect population will increase, along with it all the diseases that are vectored by insects. The bees dying can easily lead to a food shortage, along with drought conditions in areas like the Colorado River:
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/21/ma...21water-t.html
The increase in extreme weather conditions were first proved in 2003, and have been on the rise:
CNN.com - Extreme weather on the rise - Jul. 3, 2003
Although, for now, this new "hybrid flu" - swine, avian, and human - has not proved especially virulent; that may easily change in the fall when the new flu season begins.
Politically, this is one of the most dangerous times in the world. Not because new animosities have developed, but because of the capabilities of nations to commit massive destruction through nuclear weapons and bioterrorism.
Oh, yes - let's not forget Morgellons Disease.

Default habitat for bats

I see bats flying around every night during the summer. Sometime I will find a bat "sleeping" under a portal.

Bats are such amazing mammals. We need to protect them and give them a new home when these caves are closed off. It sounds like most of these caves were man-made from mining anyways...

Give them a fricken break!! Bats are not bugs and they control bug population Bat house bats provide pesticide free insect control. Move bats in the attic to a bat house.

In the white light,

Post Actually 30 States..

Bats actually do eat insects and keep the insect population down. I wonder what exactly this white fungus was and how it spread to so many other caves killing the bats. What happened and how were humans involved, I wonder? The article actually said 30 states were involved. Fungus is becoming more and more of a serious threat to the balance of nature and our ability to survive on this planet. Has a type of man-made fungus played a role in bee and frog extinctions? (That is becoming overwhelmed and contaminated with this hard-to-eradicate fungus.) I know that my body and immune system can no longer deal with fungus or mold.

I think the caves are being closed to PEOPLE - not the bats. They are thinking that people are tracking in this white fungus, and they are trying to protect the bats.
It will be serious business if they die off....bugs and all their vectors...

Your're right. The caves are being closed to people. The following article suggest people are maybe contaminating the caves:

Northeast Region, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service

I think I made the posts unclear. Is Mercury Retrograde??

Bats are very important in eating insects, especially mosquitoes, which carry diseases.

Sadsack, Jonsi and Katinka:
I agree with you. You understand and share my same concerns. They are vital to insect control. I want to also say thanks to the Forest Service for helping slow down the problem.
