Default Threadworms

Hey all,
why is it so difficult for anyone to diagnose our condition if it is parasitic? this is the first time i've seen in order to detect this one the way to properly diagnose this the infected person has to swallow a string . my point is it is extremely difficult to diagnose most parasitic diseases.they are everywhere but yet they have an extremely hard time finding thiem.
Best Wishes
Robin

Hi Robin, one reason it is difficult to diagnose parasitic diseases in people, is that the symptoms of parasitic diseases are quite like many other diseases. The symptoms can range from nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and weight loss.

As you can see, the symptoms are quite common in various maladies. So consequently a diagnosis of parasitic diseases becomes somewhat more difficult without further information present.
And in fact if you live in a non-third world country, it's one of the last thing's they think of, I suspect.

Hi Robin...An interesting read, what the article says makes complete sense, the symptoms of coughing which some of us gets, shows that you swallow mucas which goes back into the stomach, repeating a cycle constantly, so the string test makes sense ( why cant doctors work this out?) I also read somewhere that a phlem test would reveal if you have a parasite infection it would show in the phlem..When I caught mine, I drank tap water in Kos(greek island) whilst being very sossled, very stupid I know! but in the apartments we stayed in were a couple of illegal immigrants from the congo that were making their way in steps to get over to U.K. this was in 1991, god knows what parasites they carried, in most greek islands you have to put toilet paper in bins kept next to the toilet as plumbing is so bad, the person I'd gone on holiday with refused to do this,& how many others also...the water came out brown smelling of crap, & me the stupid one had drunk it as we had'nt had time to buy bottled before we went out on the razzle until 5am...

thanks for the read, I wonder if that is what lots of us have a threadworm infection, mines lasted 18yrs, nothing alive now, just constant fibres coming out of ulcers, also fungal thickened skin, hate it!!!! S.D.

Hey everyone,
Thats the thing franky that really gets me so aggravated i have had all the classic symptoms! when i was hospitalized for a week the drs mentioned something about my hemoglobin being off. thats a dead giveaway .i really believe whaen the FDA approved the use of nematodes to help crops in 1982 whoever the einstein was! had no idea what the outcome would be.seeing how they do know so little about these parasites how could they? and they still are identifying new species all the time.also where i live there are many african imigrants and i don't believe they have a clue as to how infectious the nematodes associated with the river blindness disease are! dragonfly thats what i believe also! and spootted dog that was the first time after agood year of researching this subject i've even heard of this string test. its truly the most confusing disease ever.it is almost so simple yet so complicated!
Stay Well
Robin
