| Hi peeps Just stumbled on this human pathogenic fungus which hasnt been discussed before on here, although it is mentioned in Tara's post about planned eugenics - where it may have been bought by the Iraqi gov )Anyway, even Jonny Cash sung about it apparently!! Histoplasma capsulatum is a soil-borne, dimorphic fungus that causes histoplasmosis a disease of humans, dogs and cats. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Histoplasmosis H capsulatum is found throughout the world but is most prevalent in the Americas, India and southeastern Asia favoring a warm, moist, and humid climate. It is endemic in certain areas of the United States, particularly in states bordering the Ohio River valley, the Missouri River valley, and the lower Mississippi River. The fungus has been found in poultry-house litter, caves, areas harboring bats and in bird roosts (particularly those of starlings) but even accumulations of household dust or soil-containing houseplants may be potential sources of infection with this fungi. Infection is usually due to inhaling contaminated air. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Histoplasma_capsulatum cheers Jo xxx |

| Joey, This sounds like a parasitic sorority!!! ![]() But on a more serious note while reading this, I am thinking (oh no! not THAT again!) with all the obvious multitudinous types of fungi, bacteria, viruses, etc. there has to be something that allows them to turn bad and effect us and other animals, etc.; a combination made in hell, so to speak. We know our immune system is a factor, but even people and animals with uncompromised immune systems may be effected such as all those hibernating. This is what confuses me. I know this is probably so simplistic a generalization I'm forgetting everything I have learned, but it still jumps out at me. Back to researching. xo Kritts |

| Hey Joey I was searching the forum for a fungus thread to jump onto today. I forgot about this one. I had it in my saved info in my laptop they wiped clean at Sony, so I'm glad to see this. I've already posted a thread about the discovery of an Italian Oncologist who says cancer in tumors is a fungus. actually he says cancer IS a fungus and I totally believe it. You may remember he says he completely destroys tumors immediately by putting sodium bicarbonate directly into them. In Dr Mercola's newsletter yesterday, fungus has been found by the Mayo clinic to be THE cause of ALL sinusitis. Here is an excerpt and link and there's a great article about honey as well. "...Fungus allergy was thought to be involved in less than 10 percent of cases. The new studies indicate that, in fact, fungus is likely the cause of nearly all of these problems. And it is not an allergic reaction, but an immune reaction. The disease process in sinus patients, in sensitive individuals, the body's immune system sends eosinophils to attack fungi and the eosinophils irritate the membranes in the nose. As long as fungi remain, so will the irritation." Study Implicates Fungus As Cause Of Chronic Sinusitis - Articles xoxo Kritts |

| What's New: Please take a minute to fill out a Patient Conference Survey! I am very interested in your feedback and ideas/thoughts for the next conference. Thank you! Check out the statistics from the Member Database! I've compiled all the responses and summarized! My Mission: To create an informative resource for patients, families and loved ones affected by Fibrosing Mediastinitis. What is Fibrosing Mediastinitis: Medistinal fibrosis is the common, but most severe, late complication of histoplasmosis. Many Physicians believe mediastinal fibrosis to be an abnormal immunologic response to antigens released by the soil-based fungus Histoplasma capsulatum. It should be differentiated from the many other less-severe mediastinal complications of histoplasmosis, and from other causes of mediastinal fibrosis, which are termed Idiopathic mediastinal fibrosis. Idiopathic fibrosing mediastinitis is even less common, but may have multiple causes, none of which are related to histoplasmosis. Accordingly, there are two types of fibrosing mediastinitis; histoplasmosis-related fibrosing mediastinitis, and idiopathic fibrosing mediastinitis which may have multiple causes unrelated to histoplasmosis. Found this on the first link Jo posted on here.Note the word FIBROSING.This crops up time after time re morgs related illnesses.

| FDA Speech before National Press Club, Feb. 29th, 2008 Colloidal Silver - What's the Real Story? Disease Listing: Histoplasmosis General Information | CDC DFBMD Hey Joey, Just thought I would post these couple of links involving the histoplasma....I was told I had that almost three years ago and never treated. The last link is from the CDC, it has some good information. One note, there are several links involving histoplasmosis with ocular disease, which I had and I know several others. Mine is better for the time being, but I have been taking diflucan since late January. Gotta go....got a bachelorette party tonight. Here's one link to ocular disease: Hystoplasmosis of the eyes - Eye Care - MedHelp Niecy, xxxxxx

| Thanks for bringing this up Kritts, I'd forgotten about it. Here's micrograph of it: Niecy, I didnt realise you'd been diagnosed with histoplasma. Good reason to be careful around the bird poop all yous peoples with pet birds. http://www.medhelp.org/medical-information/show/1686/acute-histoplasmosis Also for anyone thinking of living in a cave (Kritts, Nat)...breathing in histoplasma spores are an occupational hazard for cavers, due to them being carried on bats. | Do I want to live in a cave without all the morgs infected, bacterial, fungual, in denial family boyfriend and family members? Yes I do. Id rather live with bats, ants and mice. Id rather hang from my toes and eat bugs for the rest of my life than go on the way I am. Natalie is sad with the way things are. Yes , wheres my cave now? heck, I dont need a cave, just a little stone box. |
