I have zillions of pigeons in my area. they are considered rodents here and their droppings are everywhere. People feed them and seagulls as if they are some Walt Disney characters in Sleeping Beauty. Their spores must be airborne for just about everyone to be effected by. thanks for that info. Now it all just seems so hopeless. Kritts |

I live in Southern California not far from the Disneyland characters... ![]() We have them bad because we live right near a lake. Yes chlamydiosis and they have a form of that can cause skin lesions on birds hmmm................ Cindi ![]() |

| I live on a lake where the ducks are all day long. Fish, turtles, iguanas, all types of birds. The ducks are tame and look for food. They poop on the sidewalk and people track it into the house!! Hindsight is always 20/20. The neighbors who both died 2 years ago were always complaining about the lake. They lived in squalor at 50, but I believe it was related to their illness. M

| Hi Melissa, I live on the bay where ducks, pigeons, seagulls, MY NEIGHBOR'S DOG (WHO ALMOST DIED A FEW MONTHS AGO FROM WHIPWORM) all grace me with their poop on my property, which is all white stones up to the bay. Not to mention the Roundup he sprays which killed several of my tall ornamental grasses and yucca plants this past fall. What a smorgasbord! When I walk the beach barefoot in the mornings, there are so many seagull poopers I can't help but walk on in the dry and wet sand. I know my feet had to have absorbed some. I know the ocean is known for its therapeutic and healing properties, or at least it used to be. When I was a kid, my great aunt Kay used to tell me to go in the ocean and all my cuts and scrapes would heal. She was right. Now though, I'm not so sure at all. I have lived or visited at the shore most of my life and I've never seen some of the weird stuff I've been seeing in the last few years. Dead jellyfish with some really strange colors I never saw before, and TONS of them. Scummy type floating algae I would never walk in. So many star fish and horseshoe crabs washed up on the shore this past season, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. There are so many sources for parasites around, now that I have learned what I have and how there is so much we don't even know yet, I believe this world is becoming a very scary place. Sorry to be a downer. Kritts |

| We have very few pigeons where I live. (I have lots of piles of deer poop in my yard, like piles of little brown jelly beans...) My cats have brought live birds into the house which I capture with a towel thrown over them to be carried out and released. Kritts, maybe it's not to late to add birds to you animal poll. I used to have parakeets, back in the 70's. Did you know the yucca is New Mexico's state flower. Our state motto is "yucca, yucca, yucca". ![]() ~jonsi
