On October 29, 2006 an observational study was conducted in Brooksville, FL of individuals suffering from symptoms consistent with the descriptions of people with
Morgellon’s Disease. No diagnosis were given at time of observation. Organized by Patricia Springstead, R.N. - Inventor of United States patented (USPTO 796,366) New Hope Skin Formulation and Trademark. The observation team included 4 medical doctors and 2 nurse practitioners along with 4 RN’s assisting. The ten individuals were given either a full-body or affected-area washing with New Hope Skin Formula Organic Soap. Nine of the ten experienced a “tingly, vibrating, menthol-like” feeling. Soap was left on for 3 minutes and then rinsed. New Hope lotion was then applied to the full body. All care givers washed with the soap and also applied the lotion for personal protection. They were also gloved and gowned. A 1600x microscope with digital photography capability was available for observation. A professional videographer interviewed and videoed all the subjects. Three of the subjects had been treated previously and brought in specimens. Subjects were isolated in the office examine rooms except for a husband/wife duo and two of the sickest individuals. Three caregivers examined the individuals taking specimens emitted from the individuals and placed them on slides for viewing by one of the doctors, who is also a PhD. in Entomology. Photographs of the slides were taken. Fibers and various forms of organisms ranging in size from microscopic to 5 centimeters were taken out of the skin of 8 subjects through pores, open lesions or skin scraping. Metal flecks were removed from several individuals (gold, blue and silver). Organism included some with a gelatinous body with 2 pincers, one eye and a red/orange body of microscopic size. Behind multiple organisms were circular-shaped trailing white fibers. Separate red, blue and green fibers were also observed. Photos of the center of the fibers were expanded on a computer showing an organism in a gelatinous-like cocoon. A black mite with 3 beige stripes was also observed. Participants included:

On Monday, October 30th ,6 out of 10 returned to be observed again after 2 applications of the lotion. Fred J. had no lesions and reported no more biting or crawling feeling. His skin felt clear and had some 6 small red dots next to hair follicles. Cathy and Sabrina had pulled a large number of mites out of there torso and extremities overnight. Cathy reported the largest organism that was felt was an estimated 5 centimeters in length came out overnight and brought in the sample. She has had the disease for 15 years and has been referred to a Neurosurgeon by a local doctor due to palpitations observed the first day. 2 additional large organisms were removed from the back region of her scalp above the magnum foramen. Sabrina appeared very weak with ashen gray skin color with slurred speech. She had 110 lesions on her full body. After sleeping 4 hours, her face looked even more grayish in color. Brown, rod-shaped brownish lines over her cheeks, forehead and chin were observed. They came off her face when her face was wiped. They came off as a gelatinous, silicon-like film. It appeared like stocks of wood with a small organism attached when viewed under a microscope. She was alert with normal color. On day 2, all of the observed features were absent. Her lesions were 80-90 percent healed all over her body. Her energy level, thought processes and gait was normal. Fred said that the biting and crawling feelings were mostly gone. The red pimple-like lesions had increased on his back from 6 to 10. He indicated that he had not felt this well in years. Ester called to report that she had removed matter all night from facial lesions and that she felt better, not foggy like she had felt before. Susan H visited an infectious disease physician who was impressed with the closing of her lesions. The doctor contacted the CDC to report the findings. She was advised to continue the topical lotion and laboratory values were to be drawn. She has been on the lotion for 5 weeks. At week 5, she has since reopened on areas where there no lesions on her abdomen and expressed thousands of organisms. On day 2 it was observed that her abdominal lesions were closed. Her doctor, Dr. Vatsala Sastry, stated that she would be following the progress of the use of the topical treatment very closely along with Trish Springstead R.N. and was willing to help Trish in any way possible with this topical lotion. She received copies of photos on disc taken from a microscope. Zach G., whose lesions were open and had areas of freckling on his groin & stomach and were expelling matter that was removed on two lesions and put on slides for later observation.
All subjects were given a 6 month supply of the topical lotion, natural soap and natural clay to help coat the skin. All subjects were asked to email regularly and keep a journal of their results. Most agreed to return in 3 to 4 weeks for a follow up observation.
