Thanks November.
I followed a very sparse, strict vegan/alkaline diet for months, basically only eating greens, almonds, some Greek yogurt, purified water with lemon, green and herbal teas, lots of garlic/onions. No carbs, no sugar, no alcohol, no animal protein. I lost almost 30lbs, and am now trying desperately to gain at least 10lbs., and some strength. It's very difficult. I have gained about 3 lbs. since Christmas, and can't seem to gain any more, even though I have increased my caloric intake and am now eating a much broader diet. I basically resemble a skeleton covered with skin.
That's not to say that this diet wasn't beneficial, as I believe it was. I may have maintained it for too long, and actually done myself a bit of harm, though.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I just wanted to say today was the first time I told any medical person about any M symptoms. I had a follow up w/ my prim care doc and told her that white filaments were from my eye. I acknowledged that it was odd and said my fam has seen it. She said: something about dry skin yada yada yada then said nope I don't think its physical possible. Then says: Was that reassuring? I said No, its not.
Also I wanted to share some tips. Just my 2 cents...I know we are all different issues and levels and varying degrees...who knows what we are dealing with?
These are things that helped me:
- stop picking
- no coffee
- sauna
- exercise
-tumeric (poweder) a tsp in h20 a few times aday w/ some sort of oil/fat
- no breads, carbs
- triphala powder at night
- that 1.00 Ayurvedic green soap that has lye in it
- no meats
- eat MUCH less (less time spent on digestion) 2 or 3 meals, 1 being just grapefruits |
