| Ammonia and Epsom salt baths help leach them from your body and will help to heal the lesions quickly. Vick's mentholatum around your eyes helps to rid them from your eyes and keep them from entering them. Hot Salsa made with tomatoes helps to rid them from you gums. The hotter the better! Carrot juice helps rid them from your intestines. They really don't like the juice, they will start comming out the pores in your face also. And finally if your having a bad biting episode and if you can take the burning sensation for a few minutes Any brand of heated muscle rub will bring the ones buried on your skin to the surfuce so you can get them off of you, even the one's you can't see. The hair's the specs and any morgie will want out to the point of I actually seen them falling or jumping off of me to get away from the heat rub. But like with anything else that helps with morgellons you have to alternate and be diligent. And lastly mix some ammonia and water in a spray bottle and spray your bedding, your mattress, furniture, every thing always! It kills them bleach does not. You don't put vick's on the eye just around it. I do but It doesn't bother me but I don't want to see any body get hurt so use cation with any and all things. I know the baths help a lot and if you question the safety of it by all means look it up! The baths of ammonia and epsom salts has been around longer then morgellons. It has been used for years for cleansing. God Bless, M.V. |

I'm curious, and not being rude when I ask this, what do your morgies look like when they jump off you? I see the dust stuff and white squiggly fibers. Is this your Morgie, too? |
| |||
| Well I'm not sure about the dust you mention and the white things I see look almost feathery (I think) Got to have a sense of humor. When I had them jumping off of me it was in the very beginning when they were bad. I had took a shower after using a scabie medicine and they were still biting me so I was looking in the medicine cabnit and didn't have anything I thought was usefull. And then I seen the muscle rub, well I figured it that stuff felt like it was burning me it had to burn them. I was right, I took some white paper like a 3 foot sqaure and stood on it and you could hear them landing on the paper and see the paper getting more and more of them on it. What I seen on the paper was the black specs (those are a blob of eggs waiting to hatch) and like little white/yellow/see through worm like things. And when I took the ammonia and epom salt bath you can see them comming out of you and there is a combination of the different stages that come out. One of them is like a ghost, it looks like a fuzzy string at first, you can pick it up and it stays in one piece. But I had put one that was about an inch long in a bottle with water and one end of it was at the top and it didn't matter how many times I would turn the bottle upside down the same end would flip over so it could be at the top. I think because thats were the air was. The next day when I looked at the bottle, it was in pieces. I think I drowned it????? There is a new morgie that I'm dealing with now that I have yet to read about anyone else having and it's the most bizarre morgie yet that I've heard of. Oh, when you say dust do you mean things floating in the air ? if so, yes they are everywhere, stuck to my light, keyboard ect.. Take care, M.V. |

| I disagree with using ammonia........ Epsom salts, yes. itwl, ~jonsi

| Why do you disagree? I did look it up and only found that it goes through some kind of chemical change and then back, all harmless. But if you know something I don't please share, I am not a doctor but I do know that the sore I had cleared up almost as soon as I was dried off. I now know that if your lesion has any yellow color to it, it is still infected and won't heal. The ammonia and epsom salt seems to get the infection out of the lesion quickly and like I said it heals exceptionally fast. M.V. |

| I take those ammonia and epsom salt baths almost daily and I have had no adverse effects except dry skin which a good lotion with petrol lium jelly takes care of. |

| Hi MV! Ammonia poisoning: MedlinePlus Medical Encyclopedia Ammonia is very toxic. The "M" feeds on toxins. So short term use with ammonia might work, but i don't think it will work long term. It might make things worse in the long run. I have a filter for my shower that filters out chlorine, fluorine, etc... Our skin is our biggest organ. Those chemicals kill living cells, & they are not good for our skin. I use Miracle II soap (over 4 years now) and Bugarrest is a good enzyme spray (non-toxic/organic). I wish we could figure this "M" out! For me, homeopathic medicine and eating good food worked. Pay attention to your diet. I don't know how long you have had "M". Hang in there! "M" has it's stages. In the white light, ~jonsi

| Ammonia is very toxic. Please do not use it on your skin. If you use it in the laundry, an extra rinse cycle might be a good idea. Medscape: Medscape Access "Although injury from ammonia most commonly is caused by inhalation, it also may follow ingestion or direct contact with eyes or skin. The clinical presentations of these injuries and their investigation and treatment are discussed in this article; chloramine gas inhalation injury also is discussed. Pathophysiology The most common mechanism by which ammonia gas causes damage occurs when anhydrous ammonia (liquid or gas) reacts with tissue water to form the strongly alkaline solution, ammonium hydroxide. NH3 + H2 O ⇒ NH4 OH This reaction is exothermic and capable of causing significant thermal injury. Ammonium hydroxide can cause severe alkaline chemical burns to skin, eyes, and especially the respiratory system. Mild exposures primarily affect the upper respiratory tract, while more severe exposures tend to affect the entire respiratory system (see Clinical). The gastrointestinal tract also may be affected if ammonia is ingested. Tissue damage from alkali is caused by liquefaction necrosis and theoretically can penetrate deeper than that caused by an equipotent acid. In the case of ammonium hydroxide, the tissue breakdown liberates water, thus perpetuating the conversion of ammonia to ammonium hydroxide. In the respiratory tract, this results in the destruction of cilia and the mucosal barrier to infection. Furthermore, secretions, sloughed epithelium, cellular debris, edema, and reactive smooth muscle contraction cause significant airway obstruction. Airway epithelium can regain barrier integrity within 6 hours following exposure if the basal cell layer remains intact. However, damaged epithelium often is replaced by granular tissue, which may be one of the etiologies leading to chronic lung disease following ammonia inhalation injury. Liquid anhydrous ammonia (-33°C) freezes tissue on contact. To put this in perspective, critical skin damage begins at -4°C and becomes irreversible at -20°C. The degree of tissue injury, however, is proportional to the duration and concentration of exposure. Similarly, damage to the respiratory system is proportional to depth of inhalation, duration of exposure, concentration, and pH of the gas or liquid. Ammonia is a product of protein catabolism and is metabolized by the liver. Normal blood ammonia levels range from 10-40 µmol/L. This increases 10% with exposure to 25 ppm but is not considered harmful. Theoretically, patients with liver dysfunction are at increased risk for ammonia toxicity; however, currently no sufficient clinical evidence can confirm this. " --------------------------- The Facts About Ammonia "What is ammonia’s mechanism of action? Ammonia interacts immediately upon contact with available moisture in the skin, eyes, oral cavity, respiratory tract, and particularly mucous surfaces to form the very caustic ammonium hydroxide. Ammonium hydroxide causes the necrosis of tissues through disruption of cell membrane lipids (saponification) leading to cellular destruction. As cell proteins break down, water is extracted, resulting in an inflammatory response that causes further damage. What are the immediate health effects of ammonia exposure? Inhalation: Ammonia is irritating and corrosive. Exposure to high concentrations of ammonia in air causes immediate burning of the nose, throat and respiratory tract. This can cause bronchiolar and alveolar edema, and airway destruction resulting in respiratory distress or failure. Inhalation of lower concentrations can cause coughing, and nose and throat irritation. Ammonia's odor provides adequate early warning of its presence, but ammonia also causes olfactory fatigue or adaptation, reducing awareness of one's prolonged exposure at low concentrations. Children exposed to the same concentrations of ammonia vapor as adults may receive a larger dose because they have greater lung surface area-to-body weight ratios and increased minute volumes-to-weight ratios. In addition, they may be exposed to higher concentrations than adults in the same location because of their shorter height and the higher concentrations of ammonia vapor initially found near the ground. Skin or eye contact: Exposure to low concentrations of ammonia in air or solution may produce rapid skin or eye irritation. Higher concentrations of ammonia may cause severe injury and burns. Contact with concentrated ammonia solutions such as industrial cleaners may cause corrosive injury including skin burns, permanent eye damage or blindness. The full extent of eye injury may not be apparent for up to a week after the exposure. Contact with liquefied ammonia can also cause frostbite injury." -------------------- If I read any more suggestions about using ammonia in baths as a possible treatment option, I will request that the administrator ban that member. Any questions? |

You reference "good food". What kind of diet do you follow? Do you eat any meat/animal protein at all? I am completely vegetarian at this point, with the exception of Greek yogurt which I eat at every meal. It seems that every time I try to eat meat, my symptoms flare up a bit. |
