| I went to the pharmacy and bought one of those electric lice combs and started using it. I'm not sure if it's the combing or the electrical part and I don't know how they work to kill lice but it is causing a major herx reaction in me. I feel like crap, my ears are ringing, and stuff is coming out of my hair and scalp. It has helped with the itchiness and movement and actually flattens the flyaways that have the weird split hairs that cause the movements. I'm pretty sure that I don't have lice because the device is supposed to pause whenever a louse is detected and it doesn't do that but I believe it is doing something to M. Anyway, I just thought I would share this information. The comb is expensive at $30 but it's safe to use. |

| I used the electric lice robicomb (back when you could get it at Walmart for $24) when I was first sick. I love this comb and have written about it more than once on the forum but there were some here who have said it did not do much for them at all (I believe Sojii was one of them). I used the comb when my hair was dry and then I would follow with the natural lice treatment I had which at that time was made by Bayer (since discontinued but LiceMD makes a similar product). At the time I had really big parasites (too big to be lice) in the scalp. Treating my short hair with this product over a period of four times for the bottle did in most of what I was finding in my hair at the beginning of my illness. I believe this prevented me from developing major problems with my scalp early on. I continued to use the comb and other shampoos like Selsun Blue after that initial treatment with the lice shampoo and that got out smaller and smaller debris over time. Now I do not need to use the comb, but do use it occasionally to make sure nothing has returned. Oh, and the parasites I had at first did sometimes pause the comb, but as I say what I was seeing was not lice as it was far too large. Even later I found that when it brought out some of the fluff others find in the scalp it would make a clicking noise though it did not stop the comb entirely. Neither did the bigger parasites I saw early on stop it from working though it did make a lot of clicking noise and then yes, it did stop when it got too full. My belief is that I was encountering something that was live including the fluff, but it was not lice. quote=MeaganM;84214]I went to the pharmacy and bought one of those electric lice combs and started using it. | TCM, it is the Rombicomb that I am using that I got at Walgreens and it is helping. They didn't have it at Walmart. I have had some weird things coming out of my scalp including what looks like white jelly sacs and under the microscope, they have a hard seed-looking thing in the middle. I wish I had read your previous posts about this earlier because it is definately helping me some. I wonder what makes it work to kill lice as advertised or in our case whatever it is we have? I haven't been able to find out how it works. |

| Yes, Meagan, it’s too bad that Walmart no longer seems to stock this electric comb. It was a lot cheaper at the time too, but then it was six years ago when I purchased mine and other items are also more expensive these days. Here’s a few of the posts where I discussed this comb and the shampoos too (in case I made any other comments that may be helpful to this discussion now). I think the vibrations from the comb bring them out plus I also think the battery generated electricity may be enough to either stun or kill them as you comb them out. wwwmorgellons-disease-research.com/Morgellons-Message-Board/general-discussion/5322-i-must-have-fat-head.html#post46370 (permalink 2 and 15) wwwmorgellons-disease-research.com/Morgellons-Message-Board/morgellons-treatment/2048-dimethicone-scalp-morgies.html#post62311 (permalink 1, 2, 4) quote=MeaganM;84216]TCM, it is the Rombicomb that I am using that I got at Walgreens and it is helping. | Since I've discovered that I have M, my scalp has been a big problem. I believe the scalp is a huge factor in M because in my experience, the hair (all over the body) is affected. I believe that whatever fungus, bacteria or parasite that is under our skin uses the hair or hair follicles to either breath or enter and I believe that it eventually invades the hair itself. (This is just my own theory) I posted a link not too long ago from a medical journal that explains how parasites can grow in the hair shaft invading the whole hair and I believe that is what is happening. If I pull out a hair, there are fungus looking branch-like growths off of each one. My scalp itches excessively every few weeks and when I look into a magnified mirror and use my microscope, all I see are these branching fibers that look like split hairs all along the hair. These fibers are mostly attached but I also get ones that float away from my head when I scratch (same as the ones coming from the skin). I have seen these fibers cause my hair to move on its own (the flyaways). It's kind of like a vibration or Quorum Sensing or something happening between the hairs. My hairs move on their own so much so that you can actually see them moving and I can feel the movement. I also posted a video not long ago of one moving in the sink. When pulled out, they move for about 5 minutes and then stop. I know others have seen the same thing but it sounds so crazy that no one wants to talk about it. Anyway, I have been using the comb and I'm not sure if it's killing it but it is definitely doing something. There is a lot of these fibers left on the comb when I am done. A few other strange things have come out of my scalp but I'm not sure what they are yet. It's like a jelly sac with a seed in the middle. Under the microscope it looks like some kind of mite with pinchers surrounded by gel (a lot like scabdragger's photos). I can post a photo when I get a chance to download it. I also bought a new enzyme lice shampoo and conditioner that they sell at Walgreens called Lice Shield with it. I think the comb is the most beneficial because I started using it first and got the herxing right away. I have been using it everyday. On a side note, I have also had problems with my eyes where I feel movement in my eyelashes as well (which of course I thought was lice at first). I have been using Bosh and Lomb eyelash cleaning wipes which have helped a lot as well as saline eye drops. It seems to be clearing my eyes some as well. Now if I could just figure out how to clear my throat. ![]() |

| I just want to make a quick comment on MeaganM's post On a side note, I have also had problems with my eyes where I feel movement in my eyelashes as well (which of course I thought was lice at first). I have been using Bosh and Lomb eyelash cleaning wipes which have helped a lot as well as saline eye drops. It seems to be clearing my eyes some as well. I wear soft contact lenses & use saline solution everyday. I have never noticed the "M" in my eyes or on eyelashes. I hope this may help someone. The contact solution I use is inexpensive, like $3.99 for 12 fl oz. My scalp never bothered me, but my hair did! For some this "M" gets stuck in the scalp. My "M" went straight through my hair follicles and the hair "bit" me. I could see clear fibers shooting out of the end of my hair. (whether attached to scalp or loose.) I never used a lice comb. The only soap we use now (body/hair/shower/bath) is Miracle II. In the white light, ~jonsi
