For those of you who have used antibiotics or other meds

I am trying to decide whether or not to try a new round of meds. My symptoms were so good for a short time (except the scalp - always the scalp) - but things have gotten bad again the last few days. I've got some new lesions and the crawlies/zinger/shocks have started on my face. Talked to my Lyme Dr - starting Doxy, Biltricide and penicillin. Has anyone actually had luck with traditional medications? For those of you who have tried various things, what was most/least helpful? I know everyone is different. I just want to take an informal poll. I cannot use sulfa based antibiotics as I am allergic. So this seems appropriate. On the other hand, I am just sort of sick of it all. There appears to be a cycle with my symptoms so maybe it's pointless to keep medicating or changing medications - I am not looking for the magic bullet - just some relief. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Hi Zen, I'm sorry to hear that you are having bad days. I hope you get relief soon. I was taking antibiotics only 3 days a week for several months and at first, I had bad Herx and was not able to take it more often. I have stopped it for a while to see if things have improved and they have. My symptoms have reduced and I think the antibiotics helped. I have also been taking 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in 4 oz of water every few days and this has made all the difference in the world. I have more energy and the fibers/crawling has lessened greatly. I hope whatever you decide to do helps you too.
