I am not very doctor oriented but at the pressuring of my acupuncturist who still feels it's important to rule out things like Multiple sclerosis and nerve damage, I saw a neurologist. The neurologist has scheduled me for an MRI of the brain. This quite frankly freaks me out. One of the things they tell you is wear no metal when you go for the MRI. If Morgellons sufferers are carrying a heavy load of metal toxicity, should I be concerned about taking this test? Like will my brain splatter if there are chunkettes of metal floating in it? Haha. I'm a little nervous. Plus I don't like the idea of the radiation. I know I have Morgellons and feel this is a waste, but am going to go anyway. Has anyone else had this type of test? Guess I just needed to pour that out.

I just had a brain and abdominal CT scan. I had the barium, so it scared me as well. Needles are the worst part. I get a new "nest" at any site where my skin becomes open. I find it interesting that the doc decided I was self-inflicting when the thought of my skin being opened fills me with dread.

it definitely is scary Zara! I feel that way too any time I am exposed to ANY toxin. I think that is the last thing we need now. But I think it is kind of good you are getting the test. Maybe you will get a good doctor who will notice something helpful. I think MS and M are connected. Three is a lot of disagreement in the medical community about MS. I have two friends who have it. I noticed when I first got htis I did have all of the MS symptoms but other ones as well. I knew I was experienceing some type of nerve damage - tingling, etc. The tingling can be from lyme (and I'm sure that is what it was). but I was also getting the feeling of cold water cascading down my legs or torso. That is a common symptom of MS. I wish you luck w that. Let us know how it goes.

I had an MRI years ago, and remembered it differently. That one was a much bigger capsule. Maybe they are making them smaller to cut back on materials. First, they put my head in a little cage so I wouldn't move, then slid me into the machine. When I was in and saw my face was no further than 5 inches from the roof of the machine, I freaked. It's like being in a coffin. I'm claustrophobic. I thought, Oh NO! I'm going to start shrieking and have to tear myself out of this thing! HaHa. I was watching myself go through these changes when the guy spoke to me through a microphone. "How're you doing?" "Not so good (understatement of the year), I'm getting pretty scared," I said shakily. He slid me out in a second and gave me a panic button to hold. Sweet. I immediately calmed down. It was like being in a construction zone. Really loud, even through the headset—and the sounds vary and bounce off the walls like a drumming circle. Strange reality. Especially because I was trying to listen to new age music through this. I went into a trance. By the time I got done, I was in an altered state and had to stagger out of there. Don't think they'll find anything. The results will be in in another day. Thanks for asking.
