I am quite appalled at what I am reading here. FIR has been known to have many benefits, especially for general detoxing, and this has been known for WAY longer than before Staninger recommended it. This is turning some people away from it when it could be something that could help people.

General Detoxing is good for us, as too many toxins may be a reason I got so sick in the first place. I've been using a FIR sauna weekly (and no, not the MPS one) since the summertime, and I really feel it has helped me.
It is not a miracle worker in itself as there is no quick fix to this, but I feel with the combination of things that I've been doing, it has certainly helped me.

The key is to do your own research and decide what is right for yourselves....

Also, I just wanted to say that you do not have to buy a FIR sauna yourself to experience it - that is definitely a huge expense. There are places like alternative health centers or Naturopathic Dr offices or gyms that rent out time in a FIR sauna. You could try it out for yourselves for a small amount of money to see whether it helps or not. That's what I do.

I had nothing but the best intentions here. I do not want to see people lose the little savings or nest egg they may have left after this bad economic times we all face. I don't have any motive here other then to keep someone from spending more on a device then they need to... Research it on your own.. Many devices available they all claim to be better then the rest. Just don't get caught up in the false claims about one causing fiber to melt to your organs where theirs won't. It is an out right lie! People are already struggling to make ends meet right now. This board should not be a place to push a particular device when the claims are not even valid. It is not fair to those that have already poured so much of their money trying to get better it is just not RIGHT!

Cynical i couldn't agree with you more! i feel exactly the same way as you! hopefully people are well enough to see through this nonsense for themselves but unfortunately there are alot of very sickly people desperate for a cure! and there will always be vultures ready to swoop down upon them!

I'll tell you what I regret. That is spending $1,500 for TWO FIFTEEN MINUTE phone calls to Dr. Schaller. Those two calls cost more than I have paid Dr. Staninger in 2 1/2 years.

There are other doctors who charge incredibly exhorbitant fees - but you don't hear a lot about them....why?....because no one is speaking up about how much they've been helped! When people begin to talk about the efficacy of the treatments, then they become targets. That is EXACTLY what is going on here. It is BECAUSE her methods work that she is a target.

I suppose it depends on what products are purchased as to how much would be spent. Some purchases could reach the prices Schaller charges. The one sauna with shipping is $4100 ($500). The main issue though is that claims are made that the MPS saunas are the only ones Morgellons patients should use. This is said without one shred of proof to back it up. A study is mentioned and yet nowhere can I find this study on the internet. There are some studies about the effectiveness of saunas to treat certain illnesses on Pubmed. Yet even there I can find no study at all which has Staninger's name attached to it.

I have a far infrared sauna, but this has not cured the parasite aspect of my illness. Without the use of both Western medicine and herbs targeted at parasites I would not have recovered as much as I have. I was deathly ill when I became sick. I also have used hyperbarics and some internal oxygen products. I am really seeing results now with extensive cleansing of the colon with TCM herbs. The first spring with only one lesion which tried in a sickly way to start. Gone in a week after I used some external treatments and a dose of Ivermectin. Western herbal cleanses only treated the surface of the colon no matter which one I used. When I started these recent herbs the parasites seem to be finally moving out of the colon. All I had done prior to this just slowed down the attacks and lessened their outbreak. No sauna use, typical parasite herbs, or even Western parasite meds seemed to dislodge them extensively until now. Even my stomach ache is gone. This is just my opinion and my experience though.

Jane, SS saw Schaller (not Staninger) and spent that money true, but if you read her post you will see she was not impressed with that doctor or the cost to talk with him. She was not discussing Staninger when she quoted those prices. She has said in her post she spent less with Staninger over a couple years than she did in two 15 minute phone calls with Schaller who is an MD. People could easily spend more than Schaller charged if a higher end sauna was purchased from Staninger.
