Default MSM questions

Can't seem to find any threads on MSM. If there are threads about it on the board, please let me know. Nothing comes up in the search field on the home page.

People speak of sulfur helping with Morgellons. Mr. Common Sense on his blog swears by it. I can't find one of his posts where he goes on about it, but include these two links.
Sulfur – A real mystery … Morgellons – A Mundane Approach
Working through PMP II Morgellons – A Mundane Approach

The nanotransformation.com folks agree that taking MSM was a biggie for them. I think she said something like, "if I knew a storm were coming and I couldn't shop for 6 months, the one thing I'd load a shopping cart full of would be MSM." (Something to that effect)

Bactrim which I've noticed has helped some also has sulfur in it.

My questions to those of you taking it...
How much do you take daily? Do you think it helps? Any known toxicity?
What brands are you using? OptiMSM or the other? I've heard that one should try to use the kind extracted from Pine. Drawbacks from taking it?

Any thoughts you might care to share would be helpful.

Default I have use opti MSM

Order your MSM in flake, Opti is American made, GOOD IDEA to stay with this kind. You can buy it in bulk form, the best way, do not buy capsuels, buy at least 1 pound and keep it in the frige. I would not MEGA dose like they suggest, your body will learn to accept it very nicly with a tea spoon in the morning and a teaspoon at night. that amount made my back pain reduce by at least 50%. It is good stuff, it also makes the lungs feel free to breath.

I forgot to add, its only about $10 to $12 a pound, if yours is more than that your getting ripped off.

I take the Jarrow twice a day plus 4 squirts of "Natural Creations" Sulphur 200C, it's from my homeopathic druggist. I use the sulfur soap as well, very drying, but I combine it with ESP soap and DSP cream.

Sulfur is key, we don't eat enough of it naturally anymore but it is a big component of the body makeup.

Good luck, it's not a cure but it helps.

Default Here is how I found MSM

This is quite a strange thing that I was led to MSM, first off I was wondering about SULFER, so I started to try to find raw sulfer online. I did not seem to find so much of anything EXCEPT that mast all drugs at one time were being made with sulfer, thus SULFA DRUGS. Then one day I was looking for a online source for horsraddish, horseraddish being somthing I wanted to eat with my meal and the stores down south only had some kind of muck they make with like mayonase. Then I got to thinking, this stuff is kinda wild there is a possibility that it could be used in a poltice on the lesion or maybe even eaten more of it to help inside.

I looked up medicinal uses of horseraddish there it was loud and clear, the main ingrediant in horseraddish was sulpher, closer getting closer to the answer I sought. There are a ton of things the early people used horshraddish for look it up you will be amazed.

Then it was back to sulpher, where could I get it, did a google and what come out very top of the list FIBRAMIALGIA, if any of you have read my posts you will know I think all the UNKNOWN CAUSE FIBROUS disease's are part of this malady of ours right along with carple tunnel. Maybe one of the reason's I think that is because I got them bouth instantly when a lesion did somthing I call GOING ACTIVE, you know like a volcano. The lesion began to ache, sting when I started to put antibiotic cream on it, then the pain went into the arm it felt like it went inside the bone, the pain was so great and unending I went to two different hospital emergency rooms!!!! I got carrple tunnel the next day in the offended arm and then it traveled to the other hand. I lost the use of a arm and both hands in one day, as time went on the arm lost all muscle. I am getting carried away here, this is one last thing I MUST SAY,

IF ANY OF YOUR LESIONS EVER, EVER, EVER, START TO HURT, GET SOME DESITIN ORIGINAL FORMULA, DESITIN CAN BE FOUND IN THE BABY ARSE SECTION, PUT IT ON AND WRAP IT WITH PLASTIC WRAP.

The doctors wanted to cut me open after I told them what happened they told me I was wrong it was a pinched nerve in my neck, $10,000, loss of a arm, two hands that feel like rocks with sand paper surface to feel with in a day and I do not know what happened, THEY DO!!!

Here I got off track, back to the SULPHER, When I came to the site headered with Fibramialgia, there was MSM, it does work wonders, it did not come with a pamplet (LIKE DOCTOR DRUGS) that tell me how many ways it will kill me, people have been using it on the horse's for years. I know some of it, most of it is sythesized with chemicals and some is made in CHINA but there is some that is made in Canada with evergreen trees. I did not go so far as to find the real tree stuff, at that point I did not really care.

Opti MSM is the kind I bought, it is American made, meaning to me the water used may be a LITTLE better than that of CHINA, maybe I am wrong.

aliester, that would be criminal if it were taken off the market. A lot of people with Morgellons take sulfur in the form of MSM. There would be a huge cry of outrage.

Baraka, I follow your line of thinking. Thanks for tying all these observations together. Very interesting!

Too bad I didn't start this thread two weeks ago. Horse radish was readily at the markets for the Jewish holidays! Did you find the horse radish helped with the lesions? Must have burnt like hell.

I would really like to take msm from the pine source, but I can't find any. I found this article on the making of dmso-msm, and they seem to be linked to "new horizon" vitamins.
Even after reading the article I was unclear if they use the pine source to make their vitamins.
MSM Pine tree source DMSO - the great debate

I have the opti-msm here so might begin to take it again.
If anyone comes across a distributor of the pine source MSM, please let me know. Thank you to all for your posts.

I was told a story recently about a girl in TN. All the medications could not rid her of an unknown viral infection in her lungs. The doctors said she would not live. She was dying. A faimly member thought of horseradish. She was give straight horseradish, also smeared on her back and chest. She LIVED. Within two weeks she was up and walking.

Bactrim has always helped but try to avoid all drugs cause of Hep C and liver issues.

So at first I started consuming unsulpured molasses and any other food with sulphur. Then this morning I put the molasses on sores and like on some sores and I had my first experience of what seemed to something coming out of my skin which I have saved( in the past I had saved some filaments but threw them away cause I knew the reaction I would have gotten if I showed them to a DR), so I'm continuing on the sulphur path and as a matter of fact buying MSM was my next step as this a source of sulphur too. I am also using raw onion on sores and 1 hour later I've seen a dramatic improvement

I moved from sweet pie onto onion pie.....lol

Yes I am an idiot grasping at what seems to help, now I've read that sulphur actually exacerbates symptoms. But I don't find much humor in that. I'm glad you can find laughter in my desperation.
