| I am not now or ever will I be a sturgeon. LOL. I do not read much of it that is true, but in my summation its up to everyone to choose their path. There are many ideas, I have mine you have yours. I do not suggest anyone take the route I did, it is horror and painful. Steve let me ask you a question, would it be better for the newbies to start at a dermatologist, how about a dop doctor, would that be a better place to start, if Phatcat was a huckster don't you think her rhetoric would have stopped the moment the problems started. hucksters do not work things into arguments it is counter productive. They need you to buy not argue. I wonder if you actually were treated by Staininger and nothing you had tried had worked, but she started to make you better, some things she tried worked others you feel did not, but you were getting better. Would you try to push the sick and miserable in this direction or would you just clam up, we both know what you would do, your here for the same reason right now, trying to help people and open their eyes to your ideas. Some people here do not like your ideas, I saw something you were talking about that stirred me, so I am up in the air about it. The item mimics what I saw in the blood and yellow fluid, who is to say! Last edited by Baraka Obam; May 2nd, 2010 at 05:54 PM. |

| To all of those using a FIR pad under your pillow. Be careful! I nearly caught myself on fire. I had it up to 70-80 degrees and it burn my pillow a little. Just thought I would pass this on. I am trying to find the balance between killing Morg and not myself too! Yikes ![]() ox, cc |

| Sorry that happened CC. I know you should not use a heating pad underneath a pillow or sit on them. I expect that would be the same with any product which heats up. If used with a pillow it probably would be best to just put a thin cloth over it and use it on top of the pillow.

| Thanks for the warning ChatCat. I have confusion over just how hot the pad needs to be. I'm not so sure you need to push the heat up for it to be effective. Personally, I can't take it too hot. It messes me up. I called Staninger's office manager and she said to just work with it in your comfort range. Mine is set between 50 and 60 and I put a blanket between me and the pad. I do have one question that has been on my mind. I read somewhere a long while back that heating pads might be a cause of cancer. They disrupt the natural electrical rhythms of the body. The jury is still out on this, but while typing this post, I did a search "can heating pads cause cancer". So the question in my mind is can the FAR Infrared help in the short term, but cause cancer down the road? I've been aware that the gauss waves emitted from computer monitors (at least the old ones) also can effect the body in unhealthful ways (i.e. cancer) but this interesting article popped up: Heat From Laptops Can Cause Erythema ab igne - Writer's Corner: Health Non-Fiction - Epinions.com The heat emanating from a laptop computer can cause a skin condition called Erythema ab igne. Although EAI is not a newly diagnosed condition, it appears that the use of Laptop computers can be a modern cause of EAI. From the American Academy of Dermatology: "It is important for physicians to be aware of the new and evolving heat sources causing thermal-related cutaneous injury. Patients should be instructed to discontinue close contact with sources of infrared radiation. A biopsy should be performed if there is any evidence of cutaneous malignancy." |

| Heat Exhaustion: Symptoms, Warning Signs, and Treatment Information on MedicineNet.com Most likely not! Please be careful! There are certain health conditions that it is not recommended as well. I would think twice about sleeping with one of these under your head as well. Your head is suppose to help you get rid of heat if you are over heating it you could actually develop heat stroke! | Yes, Cyn, it probably is not a good idea to sleep with a heating device of any sort under the head. I sometimes have used a regular heating pad on the back of my neck when sore or even the head when I have had a headache. Still I could not use it for very long as I get hot. Sleeping on it would have been uncomfortable and impossible. I also would not sleep in a sauna for many hours, as some have mentioned doing. That just sounds like a half baked idea (sorry I could not resist the pun here-- ).
