Default Does FAR Infrared treatment really help?

Hi. I'm new here and will post my story eventually.
For now though, I'd like feedback from those of you using FAR Infrared pads and saunas.

Do you notice any difference in how you feel? Would you recommend getting one and why? Anything else about the treatment you care to share? Please be specific.

I'm considering getting a FAR Infrared pad from Dr. Staninger, but I am trying to ascertain if this treatment really works or if it bogus.
Many thanks...

Hi Zara,

You probably live near me, in So Cal. I have been to Dr S's office, but never seen her for an appt.

I have a FIR sauna. I do believe they help/work. However I did not see the dramatic results I was expecting from what I have heard others here say. On the other hand, the strategies I had been trying on my own have been extremely successful, so it may be that by the time I got the sauna I was not in the stage to where I would notice a huge dramatic difference.

Well, finally last night I got a white thing to push out of my arm. I'm pretty sure it is from the sauna, but I want to replicate what happened several times before I am sure. I also had a bunch trying to push through my right torso last night. (But at some point I could not stay up any longer and had to stop for a while.)

Tonight I will try again. BUt what I found...

It is freakin' NOT the comfy, feel good, relaxing thing I'd heard - at least not for me. I have to stay very hot in there... and it is hard to get enough air. It's not pleasant, but I started adding more heat. I have to be at the point I have about 5 drops of sweat hit the floor a second. That I am noticing seems to be working. I really did feel a relief - like I had a less toxic load. I felt lighter and better.

I would have thought just being near the pads would work - (they are WAY TOO HOT to even touch tho.. or lean against), but I was not getting the same result without the huge heat level.

I try to watch charming old movies through the glass to pass the time. I had thought I would meditate in there one hour in the am and pm. but it was too hot and hard to breathe for my regular meditation styles. Eventually, I will do pranayama breathing exercises in there, but that is it. And I mgiht exercise in there too.

Zara:
I have been asking the same questions myself and will probably be placing my order for the pad this week!

Just about all the the feed back I have been getting has been positive. Although I wouldn't call FAR infrared "the" cure fr Morgellons it appears to stepping stone on the path to wellness.

The pad, the sauna aren't cheap, but I try to rationalize it by thinking of how so many M suffers have spent much more on treatments and cures that did nothing to help. Atleast the FAR infrared products have gotten the thumbs up from several senior members here.

I hope you feel better soon.

John

Thank you everyone for your feedback. I never hear of people saying that it has really helped them. I'm not even sure in what way it is supposed to assist. I was hoping for some definitive opinions before purchasing and will wait and see if anyone else has something to say.

Fracty—I didn't know you could use it to push things out of the body. I doubt I could take the high heat. Be careful you don't turn into a french fry!

FAr infrared is supposed to increase the internal temperature of the body, increase circulation and increase perspiration of the sweatglands. The higher core temperature of the body is then able to activate the natural killers and enhance the immune systems attack against bacterial infection.

Otherwise infrared saunas are excellent at detoxifying the body from pollutants such as heavy metals.

Yes, it works. Nothing is a sure fire cure, but this definitely helps.
The pads are not comfortable but they are worth it. I would buy the sauna if I could afford it.

Ya, experts say it is good for detoxing and strengthening the immune system. Those things can only help us.

I'm not doing too much heat Zara. I just don't like it hot. It already gets in the hundred and teens here. The last thing I enjoy doing is getting in more of that heat, but I should be happy to even have the option.

Even tho I don't feel it working most of the time, I really do think it will have an effect, but that it may take me two years to get all of this out of my system. In the meantime, I am steadily, slowly detoxing via FIR and other things.

But the weird thing is, I heard so many ppl say they felt so good during and after. I sure don't. so I don't quite understand that.

Maybe like other things, you have to feel worse before you feel better. maybe it depends on the load. or if you have lyme and it is killing the lyme and they are dying and giving off toxins that makes you feel worse.

I did an IFR sauna one time, I had about 5 grains of clear crystal sand come out of me.

wierd.
