Default Where to find FAR infrared saunas

I have been trying to find a facility that has a FAR infrared sauna that is a pay as you go . I can find plenty of businesses that sell them, but nothing in the way of a sauna I can visit.

Are certain types of facilities that will be more inclined to have a FAR infrared sauna? Like a accupuncturist? Any search ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Oh and I am in PA, in the Philly burbs.

Jin,
I tried to find a place also. Someone here... maybe in one of the threads.. told me that where they live they pay a small fee to go unlimited monthly. But I was never able to find any deals like that.

I live in LA so I could have gone to Dr Staningers, but that would have cost me a fortune in visit fees, gas, time, and exhaustion from the drive. I finally decided it was better to get my own.

I called every credit card a thousand times. I am already in horrible debt from all of this and my income has plummeted. But I finally found a combo of two credit cards that allowed me to get the sauna.

I got it directly from Sonny, the manufacturer, at MPS is the New Approach to Health . He is awesome. Before that I almost purchased it from someone whose first name starts w 'D' at a sight I have never seen mentioned here, but that does sell MPS. That was a HUGE mistake!!! I would stay away from dealing w her. But Sonny at MPS is wonderful.

If I had not been able to come up w the money for the sauna I would have gotten the pad and slept on it all night, and even tried to use during the day if possible.

I didn't think I could do come up w a way to afford the sauna since I have already depleted all my funds on this and lost lots of work, but I wheeled and dealed until I found a way to come up w the it after all. Probably in the long run it would be less expensive to get the pad than it would be to rent something monthly.

Either way, GOOD LUCK and let us know what you end up doing!

Here's a place which treats lyme and also has FIR suana treatments as well as many other alternative therapies. It might be expensive there though since there is an MD involved. You could try calling spas and chiropractors too. Sometimes acupuncturists treat this way (though in my experience this is less likely):

thanks for the links Hurtin. I think making your own sauna is a great idea. There is one thing the person should investigate, and maybe you know the answer to this already Hurtin.

When I was researching I was under the impression that, at least according to Dr Staninger, it is important to use "diamond carbon filters." Now I was so desperately desiring to start the FIR RIGHT AWAY I did not research as much as I would have normally. I just knew that supposedly ppl had been helped following Dr S's instructions, so I paid more to get the one she mentions.

I assume there are others just as good, but I felt I did not have the time or "lifeforce" to make a mistake so I just got the one she said.

If the person building the sauna has time, they should probably check that. On the ohter hand, if you build the sauna yourself, maybe replacing panels is not that time consuming or costly.

The link to MPS I posted above also has a "guide" (what to look for in a FIR sauna) that everyone might want to check out. The info applies to any FIR sauna. I found it very helpful.

Jin,
I don't know if this is an option for you, but if you can call credit card companies or banks and get a low or no interest loan (no interest for 9 months, etc) it MIGHT be less expensive to buy the whole sauna. The payments might be around $100 a month, maybe $200. Mine are a bit above $100 for the credit card loan. But any place I could have found around here (especially when you add in gas) would have cost more.

I did hear about one person tho who found something for only $50 or even $40 a month for unlimited use. I forgot who it was now, lol. If you could find something like that, then that is a GREAT option. But I was not able to find anything similar here in Southern Cali.

Check out this other thread:

FarInfrared for the Treatment of Lyme Disease

btw - that looks like a topnotch center. They offer IV glutathione and other therapies that you won't get at a regular spa.

Hi Fracty! That was me. There is an alternative health center around me that does ionic foot baths, ear candling, accupuncture, reiki, etc. They also have a sauna that I can use unlimited for 50$ a month.

I found a website that lists some holistic practitioners from the Philadelphia area:
Philly Wellness Guide - The Greater Philadelphia Wellness Network

Jin, maybe you could call a couple and ask if they have a far infrared sauna? If not, maybe the know of a place that has one?

Wow thank you all for your help! I didn't see any replies in the first day or two, so I thought it was a dead issue. Boy was I wrong! We are just coming off the snow pounding of the century. I am hoping to pound the pavement this week (well via phone) and find a place I can go to on a pay as you go basis for now. If it works I am more then willing to make a purchase, but a somewhere with a payment plan would be nice. Not to mention I do know where I could fit the 2 person MPS unit in my house.

I'd be interested to see if there is a difference in results of the brands of sauna. The prices of have found locally for FAR Infrared saunas has been as low as $800-1000. Granted these aren't the MPS ones so it might be a case of you get what you pay for. Once I start going, Ill let everyone know how it goes.

Thanks once again everyone.

John
