In cooking, besides keeping cut fruits and vegetables from turning brown, ascorbic acid promotes the growth of yeast, and so is also often added as an enhancer to bread dough. In commercial food processing it is used as an antioxidant preservative. Difference: citric and ascorbic acid
This is disturbing to me because many people might be taking tons of vitamin C for the anti-oxidant benefits and all along, if they have candida, it might be promoting growth!
No WONDER doctors don't want to learn about this stuff!!! There is always so much to learn the more you learn!

Kritts - Did you ever read about this any other place? About the ascorbic acid piece? I honestly do not believe it. Maybe its a promoter at low levels, but I am taking megadoses of vitamin C and only feeling better, not worse. When I did my first C flush, strings of candida came out in my urine, so I was killing it. Also, I just had my 2nd vitamin C IV therapy today and as I was driving home, my nasal passages were clearing... so... I really don't think I was promoting candida growth....
You can do a google search and see that there are several web sites that state that Vitamin C will kill candida. I just did a quick search. Here is one site:
Dr. Zoltan Rona on Vitamin C
" In general, Vitamin C is a weak acid. Candida, bacteria, fungi and parasites are often killed off by high dose vitamin C and this releases toxins into the system. Gas, headache, nausea and lightheadedness sometimes results but this is just a sign of a temporary cleansing or detoxification reaction. The problem can be eliminated by doing a vitamin C flush. This is done by increasing the dose of vitamin C to the point of clear, watery diarrhea which usually results in a nice purge of the majority of these toxins. The vitamin C flush is best done with buffered vitamin C powder, taking a teaspoon in juice every half hour until watery diarrhea is reached. After this bowel tolerance level is reached, the dose can be adjusted to where the bowels feel comfortable. The gas and other detoxification reactions should disappear."
My first vitamin C IV gave me brain fog, which I attributed to some type of detox reaction...
