Hi Does anyone have any view/experience on ivermectin and the best frequency to take doses? Have got some from a website. I have previously taken two doses on day one and two. Seemed to knock things back temporarily, but I'm clearly not cured ![]() I'm considering daily, every other day, every three or four days, weekly.. Any thoughts?

I am 15 months into this and wish I had taken it at the beginning! My Derm did a lot of research and the medical max advice is 3 pills (3 mg tab) day one. 2 weeks later, 3 more pills, wait 6 weeks, another 3 pills, 2 more months an have blood checked for liver enzyme after 30 days initially. I haven't taken this dose yet as I have a new appt. next week with a progressive Doctor. I want to do the Great Plains Lab test with this dude so I am staying off all meds till then. I did take it last spring, about 8 months in and felt great for a week, but it was only one dose. I am hesitant because drhildy in LA says that Iver just drives it deeper and I have recently ordered the FIR pad. I am doing lots of trace minerals, aminos and enzymes right now and having some major hatching bi monthly with the new moon/full moon. No one including drh can convince me that there is no parasite involved in this mess!! I have seen them at my out break. They are collembola and psocids in my case. Getting rid of them in my environment is a major motivator for me. My dog is doing iver shot, three times now 2 weeks apart and she's much better so I am somewhat hopeful. Good luck. God Bless.

| Dosage of Ivermectin may differ with weight. The dose my doctor prescribed was 12mg (4 tablets, 3mg). I have heard others here mention using that dose too. He said to use as needed and although I asked about liver effects he never did check that. He was also rather vague about how often to use it.

About 2 1/2 years ago I took Stromectol (ivermectin) every day for a month. I can't remember the dose. For the first 2 days I was much better, then I hit the skids and by the time the month was over I was much, much sicker than I was before. I guess it works for some, but sure didn't for me. SS

Thanks all. Actually as mentioned you can take more than 9mg. Recommended dose in the medicine info is up to 200 micrograms per kg body weight. healthline.com/ahfscontent/ivermectin/2?brand=#H3 (unable to put in www as I have not made 15 posts so paste the above in front of it) I weigh 79 kg. According to the "Strongyloidiasis" dose recommendations (the highest recommendations) I take 15mg. As I got the drug in 3mg tablets I take 5 ie 15mg. For some conditions it is recommended to be used days 1,2 and 10 in others less frequently.. Anyway, I have taken on 2 occasions, for 2 days, about 2 weeks apart. (I'm on day 2 of second treatment). I'm extending this one to 4 days just to see. In honesty I haven't noticed a huge effect, although I do feel it has helped somewhat. I only have 2 more doses left anyway, was just wondering what people had found on extended doses.. I wonder if I should take both final doses together, as it seems pretty well tolerated, although don't really want to overdose..

Well I thought I would give an update. Since I started using ivermectin, I feel I have had improvements. First off - this drug seems very safe. No side effects and to get anywhere near a dangerous dose you need to take 10 times too much from what I have read (disclaimer: please do your research, do not take 10 times the normal dose, i'm just saying this to note that it seems safe from all the reserach I have done!) I have used it in fits and starts. I started off as I described taking it in 15mg batches (bear in mind my weight 79kg as above), two days in a row. Some improvement noticed following a day or two, with a gradual worsening of symptoms over the ensuing week or so. So a fortnight later, tried some more. As I say I tried to work out optimal frequency because I found that while taking it for consistent patches - over a sustained 4 days or so - it seemed to make no difference to the one off dose and I worried about the "mystery parasite" might developing immunity. Basically once to twice a week seems to work and I have upped my dose to around 18 mg which is slightly above the recommended dose as described above for my weight. I begin to feel this kills off parasites in a certain life stage. I am considering trying higher doses (disclaimer: but this is just me, do your research + I am otherwise healthy, also check for other drug interactions and probably best not to drink alcohol concurrently) Combine with good environment work simultaneously and I find things improve rather well, but as other have said - it's no instant cure. Happy to say I found no dramatic worsening of my symptoms as others have found - so I feel there is no harm in carefully trying this, so long as you go in with realistic expectations and are careful. I also take a fairly well developed nutritional supplement regime as described elsewhere on this site - (most beneficial in my view are NAC and garlic, but plenty more besides. Oh and topical coconut oil - go there).

Ivermectin can be a very dangerous drug to take if you have an allergy to it. It is a central nervous system stimulant. However, some people, like me, can tolerate what should be murderous doses of Stromectol taken for 10 days at a time -- with maybe a one day break. I am getting over my Morgellons. However, it took massive doses for months. I eventually was taking as many as 8 pills a day, 12 mg a pill. I suggest starting out with 3 mg, and test your tolerance. Stromectol will stop your periods and cause birth defects later on. It will also screw with your liver and ruin your skin color temporarily (altho just a small dose of 12 mg can give your skin a beautiful youthful glow the first day or two). I found that the Morgellons did develop a small tolerance to the Stromectol. I also found that only 4 or 5 12 mg tablets a day was optimal. I would take two tablets when I woke in the morning, a booster tablet around 2 p.m., and two tablets around 7:00 p.m. (because you need to keep hitting the Morgellons and not give it a break overnight,) I also took massive doses of Bactrim with the Stromectol. They worked well together. Cipro was originally prescribed, but was useless. Morgellons seems to bathe itself in an MRSP resistant staph (thus one needs to use a sulfur antibiotic like Bactrim). I would go off the stuff temporarily to see if my body kept fighting the Morgellons. When my body would start to lose control of the expansion of Morgellons (i.e. if body is in control, Morgellons keeps getting less, it doesn't expand) -- I would go back on the heavy doses. I eventually got heartburn and pain in liver and started ruining my kidneys. However, I was in good health before the Morgellons (altho had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and compromised immune system from recent cosmetic surgery when got Morgellons) -- therefore, my body is recovering nicely. Liver, kidneys etc. are much better in very short time. I had big skin lesions from Morgellons, and found that my body slowly reduced them. The lesions would break up into smaller patches, and one by one the smaller lesions would open and bleed (apparently my body could only attack so many Morgellons parasites at a time -- so worked systematically). When the blood came out of lesion, it was a neon red (and I am certain contaminated with some kind of eggs for the Morgellons). It's very important to quickly soak up the blood (even if only a pin prick amount) over and over with toilet paper (so one can discard the contaminated tp -- I spent months in front of tv just cleaning wounds). The contaminated blood must exit the wound, or Morgellons will rehatch. Additionally, the blood cannot be smeared in any amount across fresh skin. The eggs will get in new pores and hatch. The easiest way to keep away any spread of the blood from the lesion is to use -- of all things -- Cover Girl Foundation's Beige make up (bought at Ralph's supermarket). Apparently it has oils and clay that the Morgellons hates (altho it does little to clear a heavy Morgellons infection, it will stop a tiny new one). I would put the foundation over my lesions to keep them from oozing, then cover that with a dusting of diadiamous (?) clay powder. This would kill some of the Morgellons at the top of the lesion, and then I'd tweeze those Morgellons parasites out using a jeweler's loupe for magnification. It got to be very relaxing, like knitting. I'd also spice things up from time to time by using Permethrin creme or Eurax creme on the lesion. Those cremes burned like a cigarette lighter. However, those cremes didn't burn at all when applied to skin not infected with Morgellons (so sometimes I'd just use them around an open lesion). However, I have found that the cremes do no damage to healthy skin (altho they might burn for a non Morgellons open cut). More importantly, the more the creme stings and burns when applied, the more likely there is a live Morgellons parasite thrashing around painfully for it's life. The creme stops burning when the parasite dies (sometimes in only about a minute). I am also finding that when the infected blood is drained, the skin area often looks entirely normal and untouched again in just minutes. Even when I have to pick and tear at the area (to remove biofilm covering an itching dying parasite), the skin will often heal without a scar. Where there are these strange purple like scars -- they eventually fade. I believe the purple scars represent parasites still present in the blood vessels below the epidermis. I also speculate that the biofilm that often covers the Morgellons parasite is actually my own human skin. The parasite appears to spin a caccoon (?) around itself of skin cells (like a silk worm). This then keeps the body from expelling the insect, as the body recognizes its own skin. Eventually, however, my body caught wise to this trick and began isolating the skin the insect was using from the rest of my dermis. This is why it was painless to pull the skin off (or even pull a little pinhead amount of skin from between my dermis and epidermis which would contain the parasite). The body protects itself by encapsulating wounds. Eventually my body began encapsulating the area of paper cuts too, without realizing there was no Morgellons there. Encapsulating and isolating Morgellons parasites is a time consuming job for the body. When my body was dealing with trying to heal other skin wounds, such as cosmetic surgery for the skin around an injured eye, etc., the Morgellons encapsulation would be slowed down. I also found that taking Ambien to sleep at night kept my immune system from fighting the Morgellons. My apology for such a long email, but I hope it is helpful to someone. Again, my Morgellons is about 95% gone -- it's this last 5% that is resolving very slowly -- about 1% a month.

Thanks Kira and everyone, this is very interesting. Kira, I've come across other ppl who have had successful results using similar strategies. Just out of curiosity, when did you notice your symptoms first started? i am curious how long it took you to get to the level you are at. The hardest thing for me is that we cannot quantify this EXACTLY. So we may look better but have symptoms going on, on the inside. If any of you have ways to measure internal changes from your practitioners, etc please let me know. i did not take Ivermectin, but the things I took helped lots. I never had any bad effects from it either, but I think part of the reason is because I am careful about what I eat, etc. Also, I take LOTS of enzymes, probiotics, fiber, etc. Well, please everyone, keep us updated. This is very interesting!!
