Has anyone tried eating food from other countries to see if it helps? I have, and strangely it seemed to help. I spent a day in Mexico eating Mexican food, and oddly my irritable bowel symptoms were entirely gone that night. I found this peculiar, so I went back into Mexico and brought back some Bimbo bread and peanut butter and jelly. I ate that exclusively for three days in the states, and my irritable bowel symptoms were entirely gone for those three days. Then, I ran out of bread. I went to the store and bought bread in the states that looked like the exact Bimbo bread I had gotten from Mexico. Upon switching back to U.S. grain, all of my irritable bowel symptoms returned.

Yes I have noticed bimbo products,,as well as "goya" brand mexican foods,,are more agreeable to the body compared to alot of U.S. brands...I suppose they are not putting in as many fillers.. A Mercados grocery store just opened here and we are finding alot of better products there...compared to uor regular stores,,,BUT you still have to be carefull,,of what you buy.. ALWAYS read the INGREDIENTS!!

YES! I have noticed that too. Since I'm living here in the USA and eating the American type of bread I also have to deal with bowel problems...like bloating, gas and/or constipation. Especially the bread that has many grains in it, actually thinking it's healthier..but no!..it makes it even worse...well..in my case it does. We went to a store that sells organic food a few days ago and bought some organic bread..and..I'm fine! I bet it's all the preservatives, additives in the bread..and GM Wheat..which I think is the worst part of it all...not to mention SC...a yeast..we are studying at the moment that is assumed to be part of or contribute to our illness. Okay. I'd like to clarify one thing though - I noticed a difference between the Bimbo bread I bought in Mexico and that which I bought in the U.S. It was both Bimbo, and the packaging was identical as far as I could tell. However, I couldn't digest the U.S. version correctly.

Most of the time local ingredients are used in foreign labels, but use the same recipes. You could try organic breads - could be GMO/additives related. KATINKA!!! When did you move back to the US???? I missed that!!! SS

Can you recommend a specific kind of organic bread? Thanks. |

If you go to a health food store, they will likely have a variety to choose from. Just read the label carefully to make sure all the grains are organic - the label "organic" can be used even if only some of the ingredients are. If it is 100% organic, it will say so, or it will say "certified organic". Also pick what appeals to you - oat, wheat, etc. SS
