Default Piracetam - Eliminate Your Brain Fog!

There is a wonderful drug called Piracetam which will rapidly clear your "brain fog" within an hour of taking it! This is ideal for Morgellons disease patients.

Piracetam has long been used by chronic fatigue syndrome patients for this purpose. It is a very powerful memory, concentration and intelligence enhancer (even for healthy people). But Piracetam is not a stimulant (stimulants are best avoided by people with high levels of anxiety).

In fact, the reverse is true: Piracetam is a really effective calming, and anti-anxiety drug; it brings peace to the mind, as well as fixing memory, concentration difficulties, and clearing general and brain fog.

Piracetam is extremely safe (infinitely safer than aspirin), and has no real side effects. It is a good, wholesome drug.

It is available in many health stores, and of course online (without a doctor's prescription).

Tip: Buying Piracetam in bulk powder form (say 250 or 500 grams worth) can often work out cheaper than buying it in tablets, but obviously tablets are more convenient to take.

The regular dose for Piracetam typically 1200 mg every 8 hours.

The half-life of Piracetam is around 4 - 5 hours (in other words, after this time, around half the Piracetam you took will have left your body and blood stream - so you need to repeat the dose before too long, to keep your blood levels of Piracetam up to the required level.

In fact, many herbs and vitamins have a half life in this sort of range, which is why you are often required to take them three times a day.

Note that some people find they feel better with a slightly lower dose of Piracetam, say 800 mg every 8 hours, and other people find they feel better with slightly more, say 1800 mg every 8 hours. But Piracetam is unusual in that there is actually an optimum dose, and if you take a lot more than the optimum for your body, then it actually become less effective. So most people take 1200 mg to begin with, and then later vary this dose both upwards and downwards experimentally, until they find the best dose for them.

ONE IMPORTANT THING: when you first start on Piracetam, you need ideally to take what is known as an "attack dose", of around 2400 mg, three times a day, just for the very first week. After that, you should go down to the regular dose of around 1200 mg three times a day.

The reason for the attack dose is that some people do not respond initially to Piracetam at the regular dose, but they do respond when the dose is higher. Once the brain has responded - that is, when Piracetam has "kicked-in" - from then on Piracetam will work for you at its regular dose. So the attack dose protocol is just needed the very first week you take Piracetam, to help it kick-in.

You do not have to take Piracetam all the time. You can take it as and when needed. It is not at all addictive, and there is no "come-down" when you stop. The only thing you notice when you do stop is that you brain fog slowly comes back.

Given that Piracetam is safe, cheap, fixes anxiety, and rapidly clears up the brain fog (ie, fixes the memory, concentration and confused-thinking problems), Piracetam may be an ideal drug for people with Morgellons disease.

thanks for this info, Hip! I definitely need it esp. in allergy season. I used to be a lot worse than I am, but when I have this fog, and ringing in the ears, and nasal stuffiness, I think I need to go the extra mile and get this drug.

Default hey their Hip--tought this might interest you

WASHINGTON -- A virus recently linked to prostate cancer is a new suspect in chronic fatigue syndrome. Scientists tested blood from 101 patients and found two-thirds carried it. That doesn't mean the virus causes chronic fatigue, stressed the research published Thursday in the journal Science. The team of scientists from the National Cancer Institute and Nevada's Whittemore Peterson Institute said it was possible the virus, named XMRV, was just "a passenger virus" that catches a ride in patients whose immune systems are weakened by chronic fatigue. Moreover, the researchers found nearly 4 percent of healthy people carried the virus, too. That raises bigger questions about just what role this recently discovered virus -- a relative of viruses that cause cancer in mice -- may be playing in overall health. "This suggests that several million Americans may be infected with a retrovirus of as-yet-unknown pathogenic potential," the researchers concluded. A retrovirus is a kind of virus that permanently embeds in the body. Various viruses have been linked to chronic fatigue over the years, only to fall by the wayside as potential culprits in the mysterious illness thought to afflict about 1 million Americans. It's characterized by at least six months of severe fatigue, impaired memory and other symptoms, but there's no test for it -- doctors rule out other possible causes -- and no specific treatment. The XMRV virus is related to mouse leukemia viruses. No one knows how it arose or how people become infected. But another research team recently found the virus lurking in about a quarter of 200 prostate tumors -- and in about 6 percent of noncancerous prostate samples they used for comparison. "There is still much that we do not understand," including whether people with either disease just are more prone to infection, cautioned Tufts University microbiologist John Coffin in an accompanying editorial. Still, "further study may reveal XMRV as a cause of more than one well-known 'old' disease."

Default XMRV retrovirus - the 4th human retrovirus discovered

Many thanks Doc, that certainly is interesting news.

It is early days yet as to whether this is a major cause of CFS, or just a co-infection.

The working hypothesis that the XMRV researchers are currently considering is this: if you already have XMRV, then your immune system will be weakened, and so then if you later catch another virus like Epstein-Barr virus or enterovirus, this second virus will ravage your body, because your feeble immune system cannot stop it. So the hypothesis is that you need XMRV first, plus another virus like EBV or enterovirus, before you get CFS.

This is just like in AIDS. In AIDS, it is not HIV that causes the disease symptoms directly, but the fact that secondary infections like candida run amuck once the immune system is weakened by HIV.

The amazing thing is that with XMRV being in the same retrovirus family as HIV, it is very likely that existing HIV anti-retroviral drugs may work against XMRV too, and therefore actually cure CFS!

So this is very, very good news within the CFS community. Whether XMRV has any connection with Morg's is anyone speculation. Who knows. XMRV has been linked to autism and prostate cancer, so as more research is done, we may find that XMRV is behind other diseases too.

A blood test for XMRV (via mail) is going to be available in about 6 weeks, so there is an easy way of finding out.

Default XMRV and Natural Killer Cells

Morgellons disease and chronic fatigue syndrome are both diseases in which natural killer cells are not activating properly. By contrast, AIDS is a disease in which T cells are low in number.

The interesting thing about the XMRV retrovirus is that it infects natural killer cells, whereas the HIV retrovirus infects T cells.
