Very interesting Morgylady!!

Please keep us posted on your progress - i think the ethanol and grapefruit seed extract are key for that experiment.

Maybe try a strong brew of green tea on your skin after a salty shower/bath. It may work a treat too (and cheap!)

Hi Jo

I have just added the shampoo that LC found helps the scalp to this thread and noticed your post here, Jo. I have a question for you. I have it from another member that your suggestions for bringing worms out from the skin seems quite effective with the methods found in the link you provide here in your post below. However it seems that the US site for beelzebug oil does not stock it (in fact I notice that many of their products are not in stock which makes me wonder if they are going out of business in this awful economy).

I could not find another US source. As the oil is expensive in UK especially when adding in shipping costs to the US I wonder if you feel that the neem oil will be as effective as beelzebub oil? Is there any experience of successful use just using neem oil? Also, in the US the ethanol alcohol would not be readily for sale. However I know there is vodka which is 150 proof which I think would be about 75% alcohol. Think that could be a substitute? Just thought I would ask as I am sure that many might be interested in this suggestion
Hi TCM,

I've swapped threads, just to give update on ethanol/beezlebug/GSE experiment to entice the worms out of skin.

Yes ordinary neem does work TCM. Just ethanol and GSE works ok for some, but it can cause the chitin to melt, instead of cleanly getting them out (best to check hands is to see if the skin of finger tips are turning white)

In the supplier list in post below a US 70% ethanol type product is linked. I think Rocks is getting some to try:
Entice the worm beneath

I'm finding an equal mix of ethanol/GSE/Beezle/green tea works good whilst bathing. Because you can rub it on, rub them out, get down in the bath again (wash them off...get skin warm and saline again for a bit) then repeat....

One US morgie was gonna try it with bacardi - no news there yet! Trisha S said about using vodka and neem - worth a go. Vodka is just ethanol + water.

Another US morgie has tried with 62% ethanol gel/neem/gse - poor results.

A UK morgie showed her doc today what happens when you rub it on - he said it could be an allergic reaction!!!?"£$$^$£%^ what black fluff and white larvae huh??

I think the key product is good ethanol. The UK one is not a gel, but true liquid with isoprol mystrate which pentrates skin very well.

If it begins to look like the exact products are getting best results, I'm sure we can ship it over. Heck, I'll build a raft and spotters can help me paddle!

Default GSE and alcohol hand rub

love ya kritts!!

Just a quick experiment for anyone's who's got GSE and Alcohol hand rub.

Mix a little bit of both and massage into hands real good - see if any larvae shapes exit.

I've got a life jacket and a raft with two oars. Can I join ya'll???

I'd leave the rubbing alcohol behind (not so good for the "M") but I can make a mean margarita.

Brilliant, its a plan!!

Jonsi - you mentioned the alcohol rub being not good for the morgs. I dont think its good to use it on its own, but it seems to open the skin pores enough to get them out if used with a morg killiing product, like GSE.

I dont know if its a treatment, but it sure shows what's under perfectly fine looking skin - so good diagnostic tool as least.

I've just shown a 'non morgie' friend what happens when i use it on my hands. He tried it and got the same result - larvae with blue fibers in.

I'm gonna see if my family will try it next.

Look forward to sinking those margaritas with you and mckritts - lets hope thats all we sink lol

Default OK, ya got me

I was intrigued by the tiny larva theory and wanted to conduct my own little experiment. So tonight I took a really hot bath, dried off (noting the dead skin debriding effect and the placement of those little larva looking rolls of dead skin) and then applied fresh lemon juice and waited most skeptically for fifteen minutes. Dang if I didn't see emerge about three or four teeny tiny white larva looking things and a few blue and red fibers. All the while I kept thinking to myself, now I need to understand the power of suggestion, HOWEVER, this was not due to anything but careful observation. Dang! Now I have just GOT to get a microscope. I am encouraged that this will be a conquerable condition. I am leaning toward the fly theory for me because about a month to six weeks ago I noticed gnats and moldy growth on some houseplants. Fortunately, I was not grossed out by having the same horribly worse conditions that I have read about, God bless you all. And Jo, thank you for sharing information that may help so many. Thank you, Thank you.
