Default Chitin is right, treatment successful READ THIS

Venetia .. saw your post on this.. and I think someone else may have posted this earlier as well? I think this deserves a post on its own!

This is a very interesting theory by Nick from the Lymebusters board. I was intrigued by this post because I have always believed in my case that fungus played a huge role. I don't know if this is the case for everyone....

In my case, I am seeing the black specks, the black threads, the fuzzballs, the wormy things in my pores.. I also continue to get the stinging and biting. Now, when I get a sting, I can usually rub some type of antifungal in, and I can pull out a black speck or thread. However, there are some areas of my body where just a rash is produced. I cannot usually pull anything out of these areas. Also.. there was a time early on where I was resting my hands on my cheeks while sitting, and my cheeks started to develop a red rash on them too. I started to suspect that this might be a fungal infection I was seeing....

I found Nick's post highly interesting and wanted to try the treatment.
I only started this treatment yesterday and I did 2 applications, around 5 hours apart.

I bought some pale ale malt barley, and soaked it for 4 hours. I blended it in my blender, and then poured it through a strainer and mashed the barley against it to get the milky substance out. I put this mixture all over most parts of my body.. and rubbed it in on my abdomen area
where I thought I had more of a problem. Immediately, 2 small rashes popped up on my stomach. I applied more liquid here when it was dry. I covered the other areas of my body and reapplied when it dried. I really didn't feel anything else at first. Then my arms started to sting and I could see rashes pop up in several places on my arms.I watched as a long rash started to
appear on my chest, and some spots started to pop up on my back. The stinging died down, and I washed everything off after 1 hour. After I washed off, I could see various places on the skin which was agitated ... my arms in several places, and my back was literally covered in rashes.
Note that I don't have lesions, but yet my skin responded to the barley in several places.

I know I'm not allergic to barley, so I'm going to *have* to assume that these places on the skin that responded is where there is fungus.

On my second application for that day, I spent more time rubbing the barley in other places on my skin, then once it dried, reapplied a little thicker. I could tell that the tops of my legs were severely infected. They turned bright red after rubbing in the barley and you could see splotches of white patches just below the surface of the skin - this is not visible normally. I continued to see patches of red pop up on my skin in several places .. not necessarily in the same places from the first application - some spots under my arm.. some more spots on my forearm.. a few areas on my back. About a half hour into this, I felt some severe stinging on my forearm and on a few areas of my back.
I can tell my hands are severely infected too because they turned bright red when barley was applied to them.

I left this on for an hour and then took a bath in some Johnson's foot soak. I showered, and then applied some DSP cream before going to bed.

I am off after work to get more barley and plan to keep doing this for awhile. I will report on my progress.

Default chitin/chitase sources

After reading Nicks post and Gigi22's account I had to try the chitin treatment. However, being a lazy butt I sought out an easier source.

Turns out chitase is present in unripe bananas, chestnuts, papayas, kiwi fruit and mangos.

So, at 6:30ish pm this evening I plopped a slice of GREEN banana meat on my largest lesion. It is now over 50% better than when I began 90 minutes ago.

If you want to wipe the bananas on yourself remember - clockwise around the sores on your left side and counter-clockwise on your right.

Happy Healing!!!!!

Hello Plantain,

Judging from your name I'm going to assume you know your stuff about it.

but....

"If you want to wipe the bananas on yourself remember - clockwise around the sores on your left side and counter-clockwise on your right."

Plantain -

Good call on the fruit

It is a pain to make the barley paste... but I am going to continue....I am starting to get sick of smelling malt barley, but I suppose it is a small price to pay

I picked up 6 more lbs of barley at the brewery store tonight.. the guy said to me, "good luck with the beer!".. yeah.. thanks

I did my 4th treatment tonight. Several areas that had lit up brightly red a few nights ago were more pinkish tonight. Most areas do not seem to sting any more... got a few stings here and there about 1/2 hour into treatment, but they seemed quite mild compared to the first night. Had a few bad areas still on the back (a rather large patch of red on the small of the back, plus some smaller spots in various places on the back), a few spots on the stomach... arms are still blotchy red, but seem to be improving.. and legs seem also to be improving...hands are still quite infected, but seem to be slightly improved... and I just started putting barley on the face.. I realize that I have a few spots on the face as well...

After my hour is up of letting the barley dry, I soak in the tub for a half an hour. Last night, I used the ESP botanicals bath soak, and tonight, I used 2 cups of epsom salts and 2 cups of Apple Cider Vinegar. Afterwards, I shower using Selsun Blue all over the body (leaving it on for 5 minutes and washing it off), followed by ESP New Hope II soap, also leaving this on for 5 minutes and then washing it off. Then I use the DSP cream.

The barley also *seems* to be purging out specks too.. When I apply the DSP cream, nothing seems to be coming out of the skin.

sheeesh, I bet that's why unripe bananas are good for the colon...breaking up the chitin of pathogens that hide there....fungus....insect larvae...

Thanks for the info Plantain!!

Default Thanks for posting the link to my post

Gigi, I just wanted to say thanks for posting a link to the information I posted on Lymebuster before I was banned. They have not only canceled my screen name, but have effectively banned the entire ISP in the area that I live in.

I encourage anyone to use my post on that mentioned link, and to even copy the information with complete freedom.

I think it was a poor move on the part of the moderators to ban me before giving reasonable debate as to why they were promoting a case study with deliberate exclusions. Scientific debate would have proved that the very statements about that case study could be proven to have intentional exclusions. I'm shocked that I was even threatened by one member as to worry about slander, simply for making note of scientifical observations. That's insane, and obviously some of those very people only served to spread misinformation and false hope, rather than sound scientific debate.

Also, I wanted to mention that the effect that you noted on your barley treatment are exactly what I described on my post, the same effect that I noted after treating myself. The reason that the reaction is less than the first or second treatments has everything to do with a reduction of the fungal cultures rooted in your skin.

Even though I am 100% symptom free, I do still treat my whole body once a month due to the assumed constant environmental contamination factors at hand. This should be very effective as a means of pathogen controll due to the slow growing nature of fungus, and the disruption of colonies before they produce large amounts of viable spores on a skin level.

Thanks again for the posts, I hope this information continues to help those in need,
-Nick

Default Bananas, wonderfull idea

I just read the post about the chitinase content of bananas and I had a stoke of genious. Although they wouldn't be nearly effective on the treatment of skin lesions due to the lower enzyme content and inability to make a concentrated solution, they would be an excellent mode of protection from the digestive irritation that these environmental contaminants cause when inhaled.

The human body does produce small amounts of chitinase, even in the digestive system, but it's likely that eating bananas as a means of increasing the digestive chitinase levels would be a very effective addition to our lacking supply.
