Default Anyone had success treating fungi with caprylic acid?

Hello all,

I was wondering who has seen a reduction in the amount of greyish whitish looking fungus that forms on top of the skin by taking caprylic acid? You can scrape this fungi off and it will have the consistency of cottage cheese, whitish too. I think garlic might have an effect on it too.

Paul -

I have not taken it, but caprylic acid has always been known as a pretty good antifungal, and used quite a bit in people with candida with good results. Also, coconut oil contains capryic acid and people report good results using that too - you can either eat that and/or rub in on the skin.

I also read on a german site that Caprylic Acid dissolves chitin of insects!! Caprylic Acid is a natural insecticide.

"Caprylsäure löst den Chitinpanzer der Insekten auf, woran diese sterben."

We were talking about chitin on our EC thread: Enterobacter cloacae has been diagnosed

Let's go get it!

Kat

Smile caprylic acid

Hi Posey and all, I started on ca this morning, will let you know if I see any benefits from it. I tried taking nac and I broke out on my feet with a rash that itched like crazy! I am not sure it was the nac, so I plan to try it again.

My computer crashed and I lost a lot of info. Nearly went nuts not being able to get to this site to find out what was going on. This is my daily read, well my many times a day read! The bad thing is that I cn't remember what I have read about treatment suggestions, so losing my info was a major blow to me. I wil just have to collect it all again. DD

Hiya Diz~

Welcome back. I know how tough it is if you're away from this forum! And every day there is so much good stuff we don't want to lose track!

Kam and Katink have been compiling lots of remedies and treatments which go beyond the original treatment steps. I'm not sure which thread it's on, but I know they'll get to you about it.

I haven't tried that, but, I have been using Unguentine ointment for about one month (pain relieving antiseptic ointment) and just bought the maximum strength Unguentine. I cover the thingy with it and a bandaid and in about two days it peels off and the crumbs underneath are dead. I have not opened the maximum strength yet, but will post additional results. Also used it on the callous thingy which I think may be a creature. The small ones come off easily, but, the larger ones takes a little scraping.

To scrap I started prying and pricking with a cuticle trimmer and a pumice stone. Works really well.

Just bought Carmex (really cheap) and used it for the first time this a.m. I used it only on two small ones and it peeled right off but, the spots are red.

Oh, both contain camphor.

The Unguentine works on the itch also which I think are tiny crumb and dust thingys.

Again, I will let all know of any progress and or results.
