| I stopped using my microwave when I got sick, only because I was too sick to eat. When I got better and could start preparing food, I'd read that microwaves "kills" the good parts of food. I don't know though. I will say I REALLY miss the convenience of them, though. SS |

| SD... The only thing I use the microwave for is to kill bacteria in my sponges (don't anyone ever make the mistake of putting them in dry...yikes...fire, fire!) Based on everything I've read, they not only render food nutrition-less, but make the food a carcinogen as well. There is a ton of information about that on the web. I miss the convenience also. | Hi SD, read here: Microwave Poison I'm not sure if microwaves could have a even more negative effect to our health by having this disease. But as these "morgs" have been reported to have affinities to electricity and electrical waves it might be a good idea to avoid. But, as I said I'm not sure. I can only tell you from my own experience that I use my microwave often although not every day and haven't noticed any aggravation yet....well, not yet. Katinka |

| Well, SD, that's the way it is.... ![]() You could try it out and see if your skin gets better? Don't you guys over there have the so called "tv dinners" (I remember those) you can heat up in boiling water too? Wouldn't that be an alternative? Katinka |

| Funny, isn't it? Before microwaves we never gave a thought to getting out the pots and pans. I use stainless steel but probably will get enamel cookware next. SD, I don't know if your face will clear up if you stop using the microwave, but it surely will be better for your health in general. Kritts |

| Here's Dr. Mercola's Microwave substitute. I believe even Consumers Report gave a thumbs up to these types of cookers (more than one brand out there): Mercola Healthy Chef Turbo Oven

| Hi Kritts, why enamel ones? Don't they have that teflon coating or aren't they full of chemicals due to the colour they use?....I'm not sure if that's healthy either..might be another thing what makes people sick...with the so called "high-tech" stuff. We had an issue over here with enamel made in italy... if you heat something up in those pans it sets toxins free ![]() All I use is stainless steel, also pans. IMO it's the best..never leaves a residue or a grimy film...and you can get them really clean especially in dish washer. Oh, well, whatever. Katinka |

| Not sure, Katink... I thought I remember reading that they are the safest, but I could be wrong (there's always a FIRST time) Teflon is horrible. If you heat it up and a bird is in a cage nearby, it will die. I just love how our government protects us from harmful products like teflon, microwave ovens, msg, aspartame, red dye#2, ......on and on. Kritts |
