| I just thought I would share what my Naturopathic doctor gave me. It is called Ledum and it is a tincture I put under my tongue. It used to be mixed with saline and now is mixed with purified water. I had a better response to it with the saline but it, along with other supplements, I believe, put my first episode into remission for almost two years! At least the lesions. Ledum was given to me for Lyme disease and/or puncture wounds. I stopped taking it when the purified water was mixed and I started another episode. I also take liver cleansing and artery strengthening supplements. At the time I went in with my 'file' of medical issues sure the doctors had not figured out my real base problem and they wanted to do brain surgery! I wanted no part of this. From hearing my story and symptoms and seeing my blood results (none said Lyme disease) she gave me this plus the others. I would be happy to share the names of the others if anyone is interested. sh |

| WOW!!! Just looked it up. From Wiki; be sure to read the last line: Ledum is a genus name formerly widely recognised in the family Ericaceae, including 8 species of evergreen shrubs native to cool temperate and subarctic regions of the Northern Hemisphere and commonly known as Labrador Tea. Recent genetic evidence has shown that the species previously treated in this genus are correctly placed in the genus Rhododendron, where they are now treated as Rhododendron subsect. Ledum. Because some of the species names used in Ledum could not be used in Rhododendron (the names already having been used for other species already in this large genus), new names had to be coined for them. Species The species formerly listed in Ledum, with their current accepted names in Rhododendron, are:
Ledum sp. often grows together with poisonous plants such as Bog-laurel and Bog-rosemary, but certain species (e.g. L. groenlandicum and L. palustre) are easily distinguished by the distinctive rust coloured fuzz on the bottom of leaves. According to a Russian study from 1991, Ledum was able to almost completely inactivate the Tick-Borne Enchepalitis Virus, a virus some people believe to be involved in the pathogenesis of Lyme Disease. |

| Sarothra I liked the ledum with saline better. I will ask as soon as I can afford to see her again whether she changed brands of ledum about a year ago when I felt it wasn't working anymore. I need to update her and see what she thinks about all this morgellan stuff. She and her husband are very highly regarded. A friend referred me as the Mayo clinic here gave him a death sentence but she put his schlaroderma (sp?) into remission and Mayo didn't even diagnose it.?? My lesions have been kept at bay and I know we are all different but I have had this 'showing for 7 years'. I believe it has been in me for quite some time prior to that. I take one per day of each of the following normally: 100% natural vitamin e (more expensive but worth it) Basic Nutrients V (called basic five by most)w/ copper w/out iron and iodine and have no idea why. Manufactured by Thorne Research L-Lysine plus acidophilus Bioflavonoid Complex Manufactured by Douglas Laboratories Lipotropic Complex (transmethylation support for the liver) Manufactured by Integrative Therapeutics Vitaline CoQ10 100mg w/vitamin e (wafer, maple nut flavor) Integrative Therapeutics Echinacea w/goldenseal 5 days per week I gave the manufacturers name as I have to go to her office to buy these. I was told health food stores these are pharmaceutical grade whatever that means so I can't just buy them there. Hope it helps.......... Last time I went she gave me another tincture I have been taking off and on which consists of licorice, hypericum and melissa and it was either for digestive function or inflamation. Can't remember. sh |

| I purchased Ledum many years ago when first diagnosed with Lyme. I ordered it from a California company that I cannot remember the name of now. I was told it has to be the exact right amount dosing and taken with no other taste in the mouth, no food or drink of any kind. It either works and completely cures you or it fails. I never found out, cause we moved at that time and I lost it and never pursued it because of the chaos of the move and I had just had a child. Now wish I had replaced it. If anyone has more info on it; best place to buy, dosing, etc, that would be great. Stillhere, thanks for this thread. Faithxoxoxoxo |

| juell, I never got a diagnosis from the doctors for lyme disease at that time but she listened to my symptoms and looked at the results of my blood work which didn't have much. I was also told ledum is also used for puncture wounds and she has that on the bottle she gave me. She knew I had been bitten by multiple mosquitoes along with another injury that could be called a puncture wound. Hope that helps. Are you trying to get a diagnosis? I am feeling like I should get tested if there is a test. sh |

| Stillhere .. Igenex lab in San Francisco is one of the few reputable labs which tests for lyme and co.infections.. you need to have the results read by a lyme literate doctor as it's very complicated.... hope this helps. Hillyx |

| The reason mine came up so positive, when I was warned by docs of many false negatives, I believe was because I was drinking noni juice at the time and my body was actively fighting the infection and it showed up in my blood. Noni is a known anit-viral and anti-herpetic substace too. I drink it in vitimens these days with mangosteen. (sorry if I misspelled) a bit groggy. Best, Faithxoxoxox |
