Is this the reason red wine washes the fibers out of the mouth? (the famous red wine test) - Wow, that is great news. I KNEW there was something in the red wine. I use Balsamic vinegar (also made from red grapes) and it has the same effect. I get the Pompeii brand because it seems to be the strongest but haven't tried all of them.

So we can have our salad with balsamic vinegar with a red wine chaser. Do you have any idea which wines are highest in resveratrol?

Hi hope this helps a little. Wines that grown in dry climates have less of the active ingredient resveratrol than wines grown in humid areas. Hence Red wines will contain more active ingredient then white wine because of this.

But obviously the best way to consume it, is in supplement form.
