This was a basic assessment which I attended this morning. The dermatologist is also a doctor and he has heard of Morgellons disease and believes it to be a real condition. I will be properly examined at the end of next month Apparently he is treating other people with this condition and in particular a lady who is presenting with lesions atc, etc. I also directed him to this forum. I told him I was very depressed and he has prescribed me Citalopram. I was actually really impressed with him. He said he and his colleagues will do all they can to help me. I will keep you all updated. Is anyone familiar with Citalopram?

I've heard it has lots of side effects and withdrawal symptoms so don't let him keep you on it for long Mat. Hopefully once he sees this disease causes your depression he will take you off it. I'm so glad you got a good one Mat. They are a rarity . carla xx

Hiya C and K. I just need something to lighten my mood.****, I still can't believe how bad I got over the christmas and new year period. I also bought some remedies from the chinese herbal shop. But yeah, at least he knows the score with the Morgellons and he says that they will do all they can to get me better again. Anyway, my other appointment is not for another few weeks and I will meet some of his dermatology colleagues. I really hope he finds this forum, if only to read about the treatments. My crawling symptoms have subsided somewhat, but I was definitely making him itch. Grrrrrr,,,,grrrrrr, makes me so pissed off, that aspect of this disease. Matt xxx

Mat - I've heard of something that can be injected into the skin to increase the skin's immunity. I saw it on a show one time, but just missed the name of the med. I'm wondering if it is glutathione (?). You should definitely ask him about that. Hyperbaric treatments have been reported to be successful for the skin aspect to this, but they are very expensive and I think insurance will only cover them for things like burn victims. I have also heard that IV peroxide works, but unlikely that a derm would do that kind of procedure. In any event, just having a doctor BELIEVE you is great!!! SS
