Default I'm amazed, but this has worked

Well I've really had it with this prob getting worse and finding everytime I go in the garden I'm barded with everything that has wings barring a Spitfire. So I was very lucky to find a second hand Ecoquest air purifier and a new Ecoquest 'Buddy' -which is a mini purifier that you wear around your neck.I slung it around my neck and hit the garden.......Nothing came near me.I thought it was a fluke so did several laps of the garden....still nothing. No nasty microscopic tickly things or white flies or midges..NOTHING.
I came in the kitchen, still nothing.I saw small fibres floating but keeping a distance from me.I hit the garden again(I'm nothing if not thorough) a bee was heading my way at 11 o clock-6inches from me it suddenly veered off at 2 o clock. The midges near the pond shot off at a rate of knots prob to the ozone free area next door (I wish)
Am not getting any face irritation in house. The unit in house I have set to sanitize and its working brill. So I conclude this is a great success.I would certainly recommend anyone having probs with face to get a personal or 'wearable air purifier' as they are known.Ecoquest is expensive but there are others out there especially in the US that are much cheaper and work on same principle.
I think the secret is to get a house purifier that has UV in it.This certainly cuts the mustard or it has here anyway and I must have the most toxic house in England!!
There are some on ebay for both UK/US customers about £45.Which I do think is cheap to get rid of these pesky beggars.I can honestly say this is the calmest feeling I have had in 9 months in my house. The endless itching has ceased....unbelievable.Next stop is to get some mini ones for the chick houses-although I did put the big unit in there today and sanitized it for an hour, so I'll await report from Ruby the Rhode Island tomorrow.LOL

Hi Pat,

Does this work for mosquitoes? And, it really did repel the white floating fibers?!.

I looked the buddy up on e-bay and found one for $19.99. It looks like there's only one model.

I'm glad you shared this with us! I'm ready to get one if it stops the mosquitoes from biting me.

In the white light,
~jonsi

Hi Jonsi-yes its repelling everything.I found when the battery went flat I was getting bothered again,so I got a spare battery!!! As soon as I went out in the garden everything was around me-put the buddy on and they were gone-no mozzies flies etc etc.Def the best buy I've made. The buddy is expensive in England if you saw one for that price I'd snap it up.Also its much calmer in the house now-am not feeling the things dropping from the ceiling onto face.Although I have blasted the house with the large Ecoquest unit, there are some black specs around but the microscopic flying things have certainly taken a dive.I find I'm not doing much itching at all now which is a godsend.Go for it!!

I posted recently that I have one that has the UV sanitizer on it, and that the manufacturer claims that it kills mold, mildew, parasites... I put mine in the bathroom, and it is getting rid of the mold in there. (This is the large unit.)
The mini purifier is a great idea. I would do a search, and see if there is a mini one that has UV as well; I don't know if they make them or not, but it's worth a look.
I've had Ecoquest air purifiers for about 20 years. If I was looking for another one, I would try to buy a new one; I have bought 2 used ones on eBay that don't work well, even though they were listed as working just fine.
The one I just bought with the sanitizer on it was $199 new.
They make the house smell sooooooooooooooo good !
Hugs,
Karen

Well for the UK buyers on ebay there is a unit that has UV in it its by 'Heaven Fresh' and stands on at £45.Its a smaller unit than the Ecoquest, but I understand Ecoquest large unit costs between £300-£400 in UK.I plan to get one of the Heaven Fresh ones when funds allow, although the Ecoquest is working well-I was lucky to get that one.
Heaven Fresh also do a personal one and it works on the same principle as Ecoquest I believe which throws out ozone.I can't praise this enough though-its made a great difference to me.Also do ones for car-which is worth considering.
I also have a couple of dehumidifiers-1 upstairs and 1 down. They pull in a mass of water and the house now smells much better and no sign of mould on walls etc.
Carla if you go for one don't get one with filters-they are quite expensive to renew.Look at the heaven fresh one on ebay at £45-that doesn't use filters.Hope this helps.
