| Hello Robert, Interesting thought. I'd imagine it could help ease anxiety. All the best Jo |

Thank you for offering but what you are asking feels a bit insulting due to the fact that this is a disease and your question would be tantamount to asking an AIDS or Cancer patient if they think it would help them. Not likely. Sorry if I sound abrasive but I've seen way too much suffering for me to not respond to this with bold honesty. Jo is quite diplomatic and obviously more good natured than I. Margo |

| Thank you for your replies so far Jo and Margo. I have posted this as I am generally trying to help suffers alleviate the symptoms of Morgellons Disease with Hypnotherapy. And with regards to Margo's comment there cases in which Hypnotherapy has indeed alleiviated the growth of cancerous tumors. This is a medical fact. Warmest Regards Robert I do not wish to be insulting in anyway - just trying to offer another avenue to think of ! |

| Do you suppose you could suggest some online references which would tie the power of hypnotherapy to halting the growth of cancerous tumors? A study which might have been done in that area? That might help us to understand this concept which does seem a bit far out, though I am sure the mind is capable of more than most of us suspect.

| This was taken from http://www.completemindcare.co.uk/cancer.html it explains the benefits of Hypnotherapy and Cancer There is a mountain of evidence indicating that hypnotherapy is beneficial in the treatment of cancer. Hypnotherapy can reduce pain The 'Journal of the American Medical Association', 1996, reported that a review panel appointed by the National Institutes of Health (USA) found "strong evidence" for the use of hypnotherapy in alleviating pain associated with cancer. Hypnotherapy may increase survival rate of cancer patients Research presented to the BA Festival of Science by Dr Christina Liossi, from the University of Wales, Swansea, in 2004, showed that adult cancer patients receiving hypnotherapy treatment experience fewer cancer-related symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and pain. Dr Liossi also stated that research was increasingly demonstrating that hypnotherapy could improve cancer results. She also claimed that hypnotherapy can probably increase the survival rate of cancer patients. Hypnotherapy could boost immune system of cancer patients According to Liam McDougall (Health Correspondent with the Sunday Herald) Marie Curie Cancer Care and Macmillan Cancer Relief, two of the main UK cancer charities believe that hypnotherapy treatment could reduce pain, lessen stress and boost the immune system of cancer patients. A group of therapists are using hypnotherapy with cancer sufferers at a Marie Curie hospice in Glasgow. Hypnotherapy benefits cancer patients "in 100% of cases". Marie Curie Cancer Care claims that without exception hypnotherapy treatment has benefited patients. Susan Munroe, caring services manager for Scotland at Marie Curie Cancer Care, said that "in 100% of cases" patients reported benefits from hypnotherapy. Although this does not explain the reduction in tumour reduction it does explain the benefits. I hope this helps. Kind Regards Robert |

| Wow, Robert, here is a great reference which has a brief mention of using hypnosis for skin lesions: http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/pag...94&pageindex=1 Many years ago, Mason1 demon- strated the selective effect of hypnotic suggestion in removing certain skin lesions one limb at a time." "Do we know enough about produc- ing immune responses, either to can- cer or to anything else, to ignore the possibility that they may be triggered by appropriately powerful stimula- tion of the central nervous system? J. D. H. lies, M.B., B.Ch." The rest of this interesting article can be found by following the above link. Yet another interesting read on the use of hypnosis for different medically related issues: http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/art...ubmedid=552490 tcm

| I found the hypnosis skin article in the British Medical Journal (1952) on the case mentioned in my last post which describes the partial resolution of a serious skin problem (present from birth) using hypnosis on Pubmed. It may be read in entirety here: http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/art...?artid=2021155 I think after reading this article and viewing pictures of the condition that I can be thankful that my own problems have not been as serious as those found in this 16 year old boy. It must have been a truly terrible affliction, but what is amazing is that such a problem would resolve even partially with hypnosis. This resolution enabled the young man to at last train for work as an adult, since prior to that he had been isolated because of the embarrassing nature of his illness which was both disfiguring and caused serious body odor. I think it is wonderful that Robert is interested in a possible study of morgellons patients using hypnosis, either alone or as an adjunct to other care. best, tcm
