| Not that using an herbal dewormer is specific for morgellons, however IMHO these parasites are not just in the skin but in the colon. So using an herbal dewormer for children might help rid the body of a few of the parasites, thereby lessening the overall body burden. Humaworm does have a children's dewormer formula which I notice Gene's natural products carries, but it will cost slightly less at the humaworm site: http://www.humaworm.com/ordernow.0.html.0.html How safe is the wormer for kid's? HUMAWORM for Children is VERY safe and effective. It contains mild and gentle doses of herbs for parasite removal. Our children's formula comes to you in small white capsules. Easy to swallow and they don't see the "yucky" green powder! HUMAWORM for children is formulated for the weight of the child so you can be rest assured that you are neither overdosing nor under-dosing your child. http://www.humaworm.com/faq.html

| Children, as do adults, sometimes do not have sufficient enzymes to digest food. Enzymes will also help to control parasites within the stomach area. Here is a disscussion from one website about childrens' need for enzymes. Digestive enzymes was one suggestion made by accudoc to help lessen morgellons symptoms. As he suggested, nearly everyone may benefit by using some type of digestive enzymes: 16. Should children take enzymes? Yes. Children usually eat the same enzyme-deficient foods as their parents. Breast-feeding is an important way babies receive enzymes. Children that are breast-fed acquire dozens of enzymes from their mother's milk. Bottle-fed babies receive pasteurized milk that has been heated, which destroys the milk enzymes. Drinking pasteurized milk causes the baby's enzyme factory to begin using its reserve of enzymes from day one. Research indicates that this could be harmful for the child. A study involving 20,061 babies was divided into three groups: breast-fed, partially breast-fed, and bottle-fed. They studied the morbidity (sickness) rate for the first nine months of the infant's life. They found that 37.4% of the breast-fed infants had sickness; in comparison to 53.8% of the partially breast-fed; and 63.6% of the bottle-fed. It is obvious that babies who were entirely breast-fed were healthier than babies who were only partially breast-fed or who were bottle-fed. They also examined the mortality rates of these different groups. The mortality rate among the bottle-fed infants was 56 times greater thanamong the breast-fed. In the United States one deformed child is born every 5 minutes, which is the equivalent of one in every ten families. This adds up to 250,000 deformed babies yearly. Dr. Andre Hakannson at Lund University in Sweden discovered that when he added mother's milk to cultured cancer cells that were alive prior to the addition of the milk, he soon found them to be dead. Further tests indicated that the milk killed only tumor cells, while normal adult cells were left intact. Research is trying to tell us that we, which includes pregnant women and children, must eat raw foods that contain enzymes and/or take supplemental enzymes. http://www.enzymedica.com/faq.php#faq16 This website also sells children's enzymes (there are probably other brands which are also safe for children to use): http://www.enzymedica.com/products/K...35265e3f0855ba Just thought to add this here which is from a UK website about probiotics which also help the body fight disease and parasites. It also lists some special for children and infants probiotics: http://www.whatreallyworks.co.uk/sta...article_ID=977

| Mostly what I am posting on this children's thread is suggestions for supplements which may support the immune system in general and which, considering that the immune system is not strong in those who have morgellons, will hopefully assist the body in fighting the infections which accompany the morgellons parasite as well as the parasite itself. A few months ago I went to an alternative doctor, who although not much help, suggested a protein blend which is used for people who have AIDS. It is called K*PAX. It has most of the daily vitamins and minerals need to maintain health in an easy to digest protein to support the body. It is expensive, but when you consider the cost of buying all those supplements separately I do not think that it is as pricey as I first thought. Directions for use in both adults and children are on the container (this site has free shipping if autoshipped monthly): http://www.kpaxpharm.com/search?keywords=protein+blend&s_type=0&x=21&y=5 This site sells the product for $10 less, plus free shipping on orders over $50: https://www.lifeluxure.com/product_i...roducts_id=513 This next reference discusses another easy to digest protein source which is less expensive but does not have all the nutrition of the first product: Goatein[TM] Provides Optimal Amounts of Absorbable Protein. - Townsend Letter for Doctors and Patients | Encyclopedia.com Here is another site's discussion of the amino acids contained in this powder which are easily digested by the body: Garden of Life Goatein IG: Goat's Milk Protein Powder with Colostrum Colostrum from Proper Nutrition Colostrum: Powerful Combination of Immune Factors Goatein - Amino Acid Profile Pure Goat's Milk Protein from Garden of Life Alanine 2.8% Lysine* 6.4% Arginine 2.9% Methionine* 2.9% Apartic Acid 6.0% Phenyalanine* 4.4% Cystine/Cysteine .5% Proline 12.5% Glutamic Acid 21.2% Serine* 5.4% Glycine 1.4% Threonine 4.8% Histidine 2.6% Tryptophan* 1.0% Isoleucine* 4.8% Tyrosine 3.9% Leucine* 9.4% Valine* 7.1% * Essential Amino Acid Goatein from Garden of Life contains amino acids in their peptide and free form. The amino acids in Goatein are in their L configuration, completely assimilable by the body. This makes it an extremely important supplement for premature babies, people with compromised digestion, the elderly, and those suffering from malnutrition and muscle wasting. Dietary peptides have been shown to suppress abnormal immune cell activity and minimize the damaging side effects of radiation and chemotherapy. The amino acid L tryptophane can be effective in cases of insomnia and depression. Glutamine, an important amino acid for building lean body mass and immune health, is not effectively absorbed when taken in combination with other amino adds due to competitive absorption. However, when the glutamine is bonded with a peptide, as it is in Goatein, it's absorbed many hundreds of times better. The glutamine contained in Goatein aids in the body's ability to repair itself after intense workouts or injury. This same site has an good discount from the suggested retail price, though there may be better prices out there: Goatein from Garden of Life | Pure Goat's Milk Protein Powder: Ecology Center for Crohns, Probiotics & Garden of Life Here is a great discussion about improving children's health, also found on this same site with more suggestions for improving children's immune systems: Home: |Childrens Line # Childrens Daily Maintenance # Childrens Immune Support The key to a healthy child is a strong immune system. The immune system fights disease-producing organisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites when functioning optimally, All children are continuously exposed to these pathogens, but exposure does not mean that your child will get sick. A strong immune system provides a child with powerful natural defenses against disease. On the other hand, a child with a weakened immune system is vulnerable or more susceptible to colds, flu, and other more complicated illnesses. You cannot 'germ-proof' your child as germs are everywhere, especially in environments like daycare or preschool. It is not necessarily harmful to being exposed to germs. Exposure to different viruses and bacteria can actually strengthen your child’s immune system. If your child is more prone to getting sick, you may want to take steps to enhance his or her immune system and make it as strong as possible. Prevention is the way to avoid subjecting your child to continuing cycles of antibiotics or other medications. Nutritional supplements can be an effective tool of prevention. Good nutrition is also essential to developing and keeping the immune system strong & healthy. Nutritional deficiencies may be the cause of chronic immune problems because it is easier for bacteria or viruses to take hold when important nutrients are missing. Critical nutrients that stimulate a strong immune system include vitamins A, C, E and essential fatty acids. The most important minerals include manganese, selenium, zinc, copper, iron, sulfur, magnesium and germanium. You can get these nutirents from an organic whole-foods diet consisting of fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds, beans, and whole grains. You may also supplement with green foods and antioxidant products. Sadly, most of our food supply is artificially processed with a lot of ingredients and additives that contribute towards poor nutrition. Processed foods, sugar, and soda may weaken the immune system. Unfortunately, these types of products add nothing in the way of nutrition, and if your children consume a lot of them, they're not likely to eat healthy foods containing important nutrients. This can contribute towards weakening the immune system. Essential fatty acids (the good fats) are essential to normal immune and nervous system function. They are found in flaxseed oil, evening primrose oil, borage seed oil, and fish oil. Coldwater fish, such as salmon, tuna, and mackerel contain good amounts of essential fatty acids. Dietary fats can either enhance or impair immune function, depending on the type of fat. The wrong types of fats (hydrogenated oils found in deep fried foods, margarine and baked goods, and saturated fats such as meat and dairy) can predispose a child to recurrent infections and inflammatory conditions. Sugar has been shown to reduce white blood cell count, an indicator of immune strength. The function of white blood cells is to fight and destroy germs that can cause disease. Unfortunately, their resistance is lowered due to excess sugar. Giving your child extra Vitamin C and the herb echinacea for a few days before and a few days after events like birthday parties and Halloween may help to prevent the onset of an infection. Probiotic supplementation is highly recommended if your child has a history of antibiotic use, ear infections, oral thrush, diarrhea, constipation, colic, food allergies, eczema, intestinal viral infections, candidiasis or is bottle-fed. Probiotics are the beneficial bacteria in the intestinal tract that keep the “bad” bacteria from taking over. These 'good' helpful bacteria are essential for healthy immunity. Herbs have been safely used since ancient times to prevent and treat disease. Using herbs to strengthen a child’s constitution can make them more resistant to illness. First Defense and echinacea have remarkable immunological effects. They support the body’s own immune system to stay optimally well and prevent development of disease. Crohns.net’s protocol for children suspected to be suffering with Crohn’s Disease and other digestive conditions as well as autism, allergies and lowered immune systems includes, powdered form of Primal Defense, Perfect Food, Omegazyme and Goatein, all easily assimilated by the younger generation. For children with digestive ailments or for those who don’t like to take pills, using oral spray vitamins is the solution to achieving compliance. An easy way to take a multivitamin daily. Absorption is immediate. Our children’s products are all natural and organic. They have no side effects, no adverse reactions, and may be used on infants and children alike. We offer on line support when you purchase products from us. | That's how I "treat" my daughter who is nine years old. She loves spaghetti and meat balls, so I make a big batch of meatballs using organic ground beef (Whole Foods Grocery store), organic milk, etc... I freeze them and pull out 3-4 every time she wants spaghetti & meatballs. I buy organic spaghetti sauce and divide the jar into individual serving sizes and freeze it. total cost $10 or $2/meal Organic frozen waffles 6 for $1.89 organic cucumber $1.49 (4 snacks @ school) organic kefir $3.49 (4 cups??? ) probiotic that prevents the "tummy" aches associated with Morgellons. Kefir stops them "cold"!Once you get the basics it isn't very difficult to learn how to adapt to organic cooking. I can get pork loin and slice it thin for "bologna" sandwiches. Omega3 Mayo tastes great. Freezing individual portions makes it convenient and helps to stretch the budget and is a time saver. I'd love to share more recipes if anyone has ideas... --------------------------- Baths in Miracle II soap or epsom salt. I have a filter on my showerhead and have her rinse off after the epsom bath (lots of white squiggly fibers in the bath water afterwards). Hair de-tangler: eco-vie spray (!) DSP for dry skin tbm for desensitization of allergies (and Morgellons) -------------------------------------------- NO McDonalds or fast-food chains. "NO NO NO NO NO" It is important to let family and friends know that they are not allowed to take my daughter to these places. -------------------------------------------- prayer -------------------------------------------- In the white light, ~jonsi

| Carla, My son has been on the DE for about a week, and is doing great! No more itching or red spots on him or the dog; and he loves taking mud baths with it! He drinks it in his AM chocolate milk, we heat the sippy cup w/ milk for 1 min. add DE powder and chocolate syrup, shake well and in 2 minutes or less it is gone. He also loves helping me mix the dogs food with the DE and a small amount of cottage cheese in all natural organic dry dog food. He has never had a problem taking vitamin, he's been chewing his acidophulis tablets since he was 1. After a little while he didn't like the taste and we just didn't let him stop. He will be 4 soon and gets up takes his vitamins and brushes his teeth right after his DE Choco milk. He won't let us do anything else until these steps are done first... even though he has only been on the DE a few days he already tells us to make sure we put it in the milk. Hope this helps! XOXO, Meg |

| Katinka, Thanks! Can you say OCD like mom and dad! A learned behaivor that is not always bad, routine routine routine, is great for kids right? LOL, ohhh well. Update, MY SON NO LONGER TOUCHES HIS FACE ALL THE TIME!!!!! I would have to constantly tell him "Stop touching your face, stop picking your lips!" It never failed I would turn around 2 seconds later and catch him hands back on face!! Now I haven't seen him touch his face in 3 days maybe more! We don't see him itching his body either! Ohhh, did I give this to my child=(!? Sometimes this world can be a cruel cruel place. He has never had energy issues, we do keep him on a very strict organic diet and little to no junk food. He does not gain weight like the other kids, so he is still on organic whole milk 2 or 3 cups a day. He doesn't look too thin but he keeps growing taller n taller, the Pediatrician says he is just fine, not to base weight on current childrens scale bc he does not eat the average grocery store food and/or fast food, junk food, sugar drinks or soda. He gets G2 Gatorade, Perdialite, Organic OJ (real sugar, less than 8oz a day), and he will ask for veggies or fruit before he will ask for anything else. I hope this helps give some idea of the DE in children. His mood has never been an issue but his memory has been getting better not that he wasn't already soaking things up daily ( is 3 and in pre- K), but he has an easier time sitting still and reading for longer periods of time, just a little more relaxed, not calm just relaxed. XOXO, Meg |
