Staph (aureus) Infection on Head

I am having a hard time figuring out / remembering how to post.

The "itches" on my head have been going on now for 3 months
and I finally got an appt with the dermatologist who did a culture
of them and found Staph. aureus and gave me topical ointment
and a full course of antibiotics.

Has anyone else been dx with this in addition or before getting dx with
Morgs?

Both my mom and me have had reoccuring MRSA along with the morgellons symptoms. The MRSA antibiotics helped some just not completely. My mom has a staph culture on her head as well and it came up positive for staph. She is far from cured but the antibiotics while they have made her sick have settled some morgellons symptoms. What did the dr do for you?

Hi Seasprite, I love that name! New here. My whole family has been having ecoli and staph infections, in throat, on skin, even in urine. I forced docs to do a biopsy, she laughed at me, the Dermatologist! She said, its just pimples, why do you want to be CUT UP? Like Im a sadist or something!LOL. So they call me three days later, all urgent and stuff! I had ecoli and fungus infections. Oh, you better go to an infectious disease doctor she says, I go there. He saysd go to allergist, I go there. Yeah, I think Morgs. gives secondary infections. Cellulitus is what my kids been having pretty bad, an ecoli pimple gone bad. Good to be validated by your post. Hope I helped you also. We arent crazy!

I have had staph, both kinds, MRSA three or four times. The regular staph also that many times. My docs said that they were secondary infections. I have taken Leviquin, Doxycyline, Clomycin, and bactrim for staph.

My husband got ecoli, the kind that infects the uretha, from me, but guess what, my culture came back negative. My urine was so cloudy you couldn't see through it. I found out that my doc hasn't been leaving my cultures in the lab long enough to get positive results. He took 6 samples one afternoon at around 3:00, and by noon the next day the results were all in, all negative, except the EBV,

Oh boy, me too. Jeepers. poor us huh? They think we are making it up sometimes. I dont understand. Yeah, I have EBV too. Our immune systems are a bit comprimised right now huh? My exboyfriend has this too, the morgs. he gave it to his moms house. On and on it goes.

Dang, when I read what I write it sounds so deppressing and like Im complaining. I have a hard time reaching out to folks cause I am so ashamed of all of this. I feel like I gave it to everyone in this town. But I didnt. I warned everyone I could to stay away from the dirty house I was in. I got a bladder infection right now. Been coming on since a feww days ago when at hospital for breathing problems. But I didnt tell them, I wanted my Emycin and got it. Tomorrow I got GP and will take care of it. I HOPE!!

So you think it doesnt show up sometimes cause they foul up the culture? My grandson slept over a month ago. Mind you my daughter doesnt want to hear about the Morgs, so I sneak the child up to hospital for throat culture..just an inkling ya know? They call 3 days later..Staphh!! and on it goes....

I'm sorry i haven't checked back here in a while. I was so depressed I didn't leave the house for a bout 2 weeks. (well i Left a little, but that just gives you the idea) I couldnt bear to go to my volunteer job, avoided calling a lot of people etc.

I have been on 4 antibiotics

Keflex (i went off it for some reason I dont remember, either side effect or not working)

Doxycycline (gave me tingling in hands and feet)

Minocycline (made me dizzy)

(was there another? prescribed by the derm?)

I went off Doxy cuz of the tingling, but I also had an "impression" I should get tested for Lyme. I lobbied my Primary care doc to get the western blot and PCR tests. I called the company and they said to go off the doxy for a week before having my blood drawn for the test. Long story short, PART of the test came back positive.

The IgM showed positive for Lyme, but it could also be a false positive and it coudl be EBV, HSV, HepC or Syphillis according to the report. Oh lovely. I have tested pos for EBV about 15 years ago but just antibodies. at the time they said nothing to worry about.

So for now I am on 21 Days of AMOXYCYLLIN prescribed by PCP for the Lyme or whatever it is.

Bactroban was another ointment for my head. (i am not convinced it helped)

Sulfacet is a sulfur based lotion, that seemed to help both my back and my head.

but it takes for ever. And on my back I dont have someone to help me put it on
so it's going reallly slow.

There were a couple of others. I have to go looking for the bottles.

Also i use PSORIASIS SHAMPOO (it's a brand) and contains 3% salicyic acid
(this is derived from Black Willow bark, I also have a natural shampoo wiht that it it,
my friend found it for me, I felt it helped, then learnd teh willow bark connection.)

I think eating sugar makes my head itch more.

Hi Seasprite, Nat here. Glad I jumped over here before I went out this morning! Good to hear from you! Ive been bummed out for a few weeks too. Hope you are better also.

Yes to the tingling by the antiB's you described! Yes to the sugar making things worse. I throw up when I eat chocalate or or ice cream or cake.. damn we cant have anything bad huh? Sorry for being honest, or rude!!

I find that emycin works for me and flagyll, but then I need a diflucan for the fungus. We cant stay on these antiBs for long ya know? But what are wegonna do right? I dont take the whole pill of antiB's if prescribed, I cut it up in threes or even four. I try to make em last.

I also am doing some better eating. Yesterday I started my drink, in the blender: celery stalk, half an apple, half a carrot, little fresh parsely, cinnamom and ginger powder, pinch of salt. And some spring water of course! Maybe ice if preffered, I can eat it like a slushy. Its awesome for me anyway!

Seasprite... sorry to hear you've been feeling rough... I feel like that quite often, wanting to withdraw and not see anyone or communicate, but then get the lonely feeling... it's all so mixed up is'nt it and such a job to keep on with it all sometimes.
