Default Garlic supplements

Four days ago I started taking odorless garlic gel tabs, four a day, 1000 mg each (that's what the bottle said to do). I also break open the pill and put the oil on my lesion. Just circling my finger on the lesion with the oil on it brings up hundreds of "beans". I have to check them just to make sure I"m not seeing things. I do love this part. Problem I'm having now though is that I have a rash all over my body, and I mean all over. I'm completely broken out and itchy as heck. I've been drinking 64 oz. of water each day to help flush my system, but it doesn't seem to be helping. Has anyone experienced this before from garlic? Do you suppose it is a form of detox? I don't want to stop the pills unless I know I'm having a bad reaction. Any help or advice would be fantastic! Thanks!

Hey meg - its possible that you have an allergy to garlic. One of the symptoms of an allergic reaction to garlic is developing a rash. It could be the amount you are taking is too much too if you have a "tendancy" for an allergic reaction to garlic. Here's a link that discusses it:

Thanks 2many for the reply! I've never had a reaction to garlic before, but maybe you're right and I took too much. I only took one pill today to see if that helps, but the rash has continued to get worse. It seems to be acting like a fungal (this is what the doctor thought it is) rash I have on my legs. I just want to stop itching and chaffing. I've been walking around work like an ape because of the chaffing and my dress clothes. Picture it if you will, ha, ha. Maybe another day will help.

Hi Carla Hi Milly,

Happy New Year!!

Scotland was excellent it is soooo beautiful up their. My fiance and i stayed in a lodge on Loch Lomond for a week and just relaxed, their was a hot tub outside the lodge cold out but water was set at 40 degrees! I also got the boxset for Prison Break on xmas day and was addicted! We went for a drive up to Eileen Donan Castle and had a look around the highlands very pretty. Then spent 3 days in Edinburgh for Hogmanay went to the street party for New Years eve also did a trip up to St Andrews to see the famous golf course and town.

It was all very relaxing didnt touch the internet for the whole time!!

Hope you guys had a nice break.

I got your message Milly but only yesterday, will email you very soon! Its a bit annoying because i cant get hotmail at work wish i could!!

Hi Milly,

It is hard to keep track of this thread unless one were able to see the post one member erased. I didn't see it either. So of course it makes no sense now in part, but the part which says "Look I am sorry if not clear to you Kritters. So, my apologies. I am going to wipe the last post as it confuses you." seems a bit condescending to Kritts. Sometimes posts are not clear to others as we write them, but it does not mean the person who cannot understand what was written is "confused." There is no way of knowing now though what was said.

Well, Jason, sounds as if you had a grand time in Scotland over the holidays. Sounds beautiful if a mite chilly. Glad you had a relaxing break, Happy New Year.

Hi tcm... Happy New Year..... by the way, I had to stop plaquenil over Christmas as I had a flu bug and upset tummy... but the wretched fibres came rushing back again thick and fast.... have started it again today and already have less, so it does work... the other one that seems to work is flucloxacillin which does'nt send the fibres away but does stop the stinging and biting... Hope you're OK tcm.. Milly x

Hi again, Milly, glad to hear you are having some good results from your medications. I hope that soon there will be a protocol to address this problem, although I am sure that it will have to be adjusted for each individual. I cannot complain, as what I am doing, if not totally curing this, seems to be lessening its effects, although nothing I have used so far involves any Western drugs (I am allergic to too many antibiotics for one thing to want to give those a trial). Still, my motto is whatever works and helps is a good path to follow. I am sure that others curious about the plaquenil and the flucloxacillin are glad to hear of your good results. I did ask one doctor about the plaquenil (since it is not an antibiotic) and got a quick, "Oh, I would never use that" as a response, so still have tried no Western medications.

Glad you are once again feeling better and hope that you have a very Happy New Year as well.

best,

tcm
