I used it in my shoes, made a paste and under car mats and in carpets when I first fell ill. My father told me that it was used in pools back in the day and i use it in the garage and the perimeter of my condo.

I don't know if it helped. It is so dusty and fine and I was so so sick back then.

I've used a ton of DE since I started my trek with morgs. I took the food grade twice daily for about 6 months and gave it to all my dogs daily, its a natural dewormer. In the beginning, when I had a lot of crawling, I would powder myself after the shower and it seemed to stop the crawling. I also put DE on my scalp in the evening to stop the crawling and in my socks and shoes. It is a fine powder and you have to be careful not to inhale it, (like LC said), but in spite of that, I put some in my nostrils when I felt crawling. If I had a rash or lesion, I would wet it and pack the DE on like a paste to draw out whatever it could. I also use non food grade DE to dust my mattress and over my mattress pad under the sheet.

I am not sure whether putting food grade DE in your nostrils is a wise thing to do.

Most treatments to adress those problems can clear up ours. They can just treat "infection" which bacteria can cause, bacteria is an issue with us as well. If eyes get red, well go to eye doctor say was exposed to pinkeye. They did this with me, ruled bacterial eye infection got drops. Same with ear infection. My advice is to ask for generic prescription, name brand can be quite expensive. (LC)

PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION
Nasal decongestant.

INDICATIONS
For relief of congestive symptoms associated with sinusitis, head cold, nasal catarrh and nasal congestion.

CONTRA-INDICATIONS
Only when known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients exists.

WARNINGS
It is dangerous to apply Vicks VapoRub to the nostrils of infants as it may cause immediate collapse.

DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Colds: For congestion in nose and chest, sore throat, coughs, muscular tightness. Massage Vicks VapoRub vigorously on chest, throat and back. Then spread a thick layer on chest. Keep the body warm. Repeat at bedtime.
Head Colds, Nasal Catarrh: Twice daily melt 2 medicine measuresful of Vicks VapoRub in very hot water and inhale the vapours. Never reheat the mixture, never heat while inhaling.

For external use only.

SIDE-EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS
Do not swallow or place in nostrils. Never reheat the mixture.
Never heat while inhaling.
Menthol and essential oils may give rise to hypersensitivity reactions including contact dermatitis. Ingestion of menthol, camphor and essential oils may cause nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhoea drowsiness and coma.
Consult a doctor if symptoms persist.

KNOWN SYMPTOMS OF OVERDOSAGE AND PARTICULARS OF ITS TREATMENT
Menthol and camphor: Empty stomach by gastric lavage. Administer a saline laxative and activated charcoal by mouth. Convulsions may be controlled by slow intraveneous administration of diazepam, or if necessary, a short-acting barbiturate such as thiopentone sodium.

If you want to use vapor rub do it on your feet, the feet take up things very quickly, and it's safer for you. I have been re infected so not on the board so much. Merry Christmas to all. Unclear

I use the Walmart version of VICKS on my feet. It costs 1.49 compared to the Miracle cream of 10 dollars. I make my own concoctions of camphor, arnica, coconut oil, olive oil and castor. I rotate and play around. My feet and nails have improved tremendously. No problems.

I was told that the food grade DE product is safe to use as a salve. I hope this helps.

Off topic.....

I cut all my hair off. It's back to my dark color and she couldn't get the color to stay on the porous H2O2'd hair. After 3 hrs in the chair last night, I looked at it and it was peat moss!!! I called my prayer warrior friends and went back and had it chopped off. My hair is shorter than my boys' hair!!

It was so liberating, but I was so scared and at peace at the same time. Time to wrap up the most difficult year of my new life in FL. I'm stronger!

Another day remind me to tell you of the day my best friend scared me while curling my eyelashes....you can imagine what happened. I had just moved here and found out I was pregnant with Mr. Most Wrong with #2 and there were 22 funerals to attend in NYC after 911......Life makes you stronger

I know I am off topic here sorry, but LC you love to search, can you do a search for me for the square head scarfs, as I have no hair at all, that is the only way to get these things out of my head. My last hair color was last Jan and the color would not take either, it was because the Morgs was in the Head already.

As I went shorter and shorter, then finnaly shaving it off and keeping it off, I am more comfortable. I found that using the Thieves Oil and putting real Oil Of Oregano into the Thieves Oil cleaner works the best, that is after trying some 20 or more things on my head. I am using scarfs that I get on HSN that are polyester and spandex that works well as the kritters can fall on my face. It takes a bit of getting use to no hair but so worth it. Cleaning the scarfs are the hard part, I soak my in a bucket with thieves cleaner and oil of oregano and oxy clean.

Could use more nice scarfs to go out with. Thanks and Merry Christmas everyone, or what ever your beliefs are. May we all get Healthy in the up and coming New Year. Aloha Unclear
