Biotin Supplementation for antibiotic protocols
I was reading about supplements that may help and came across a lot pertinent info on this nutrient. I put this post under "Treatments" because my experience and empirical reports both concur this helps a little.
Biotin can be obtained from some foods. Most commonly, it seems to be made by gut bacteria. Suppressing the evil microbes have brought benefit to many. However, if you take a multivitamin, it may only have 17% RDA. Though it is a B Vitamin related nutrient, don't think supplementation encourages evil microbes, like one or two B vitamins could. (Nor would I as am amateur advocate not taking B vitamins, b/c antibiotic would control feeding the bad guys with complete B's anyway).
The point is Biotin is supposed to help with healthy hair, nails, and carbohydrate metabolism. Having been taking a cheap supplement, like $2.99 for 150 daily pills w/ US RDA of 167%, three months later, I see a difference. My nails are growing like crazy. And it's a solid, healthy, clear looking growth. While this has not converted the scalp "Morg. fibers" back to normal hair, the hairs that are clearly not on a spot impacted by Morg. scalp, do seem slightly more solid.
