Re: Horseradish? I also wanted to add Horseradish is very good with mustard. The flat yellow kind has tumeric in it did you know that? (also known as curcumin) which is some use as an herb to purify and cleanse and help the body with Morgellons Disease. I think in past history spices were not only used to season but to promote general health as well. Sanitary conditions were not like today. If you look at India and Mexco, with their spicy cuisines the spices used have health benefits. Look at chinese medicine as well, and their cusine is flavored with such things as ginger. Italians, were once a puzzle, they ate so much rich food, yet did not drop dead from heart attacks as much as their American cousins. What was most of their food flavored with? Garlic, and courses even to this day were washed down with red wine, both of which in moderation help lower cholesterol. I use alot of cumin in my diet (spice food with it alot) tumeric, or curcumin. I also season my food alot with red pepper. I used to love black pepper but use the red now because black pepper coats your intestines and toxins can build up in this lining. Shame I like black pepper, but red pepper is pretty tasty so not whining. (LC). |
