Default Cars, I need your info on "How to have a bug free ride"

Hello all,

I'm new(ish) to the online help with Morgies. Other night I hopped in my car and ran an errand (10 mins), after getting back home I was aware of how it feels to pick up some newbie Morg's.

I have not found anything dealing with cars cept for bubba's note to spray with Eco-Vie.
I just got my Eco-Vie today and will hose down the interior of the car with it. I suspect I'll do that a couple days in a row. I'm lucky living in New England with the heat and humidity, I suspect my car is a perfect little Bio-Sphere for the Morgie's. Good thing I got a bike.

Anybody used anything else and more specifically how'd ya do it?

I know sometimes the hardest part is just getting going. But move I must.

May we all be blessed with courage and strength.

Scott

Spraying with Odo-ban every day is good. DE on the carpets.

MMmm, LC, after all the amonia I've sprayed in Jane, (my car), It'd be nice to have it smell like orange anything. And Friski I dont think its extreme to get rid of the carpets and headliner and the cloth panels on the doors, just smart. I tried to fix a power window problem today, during this excursion I thought about my car seats. Last night I ordered one of those "wooden beads seat cushion", to help keep my back cooler (and drier), 1\2 my infest is on my back, cool is gonna be good. And I had the thought of instead of trashing my seats I think I'll purchase a construction product that is a plastic sheathing with a sticky back and then pull the seat out and wrap it. I was thinking of using Diatomaceous earth on it B4 I wrap it... I think the back seat will have to be done too.

Happy trails

Here are some tips given to me from one of the site moderators. Don't think she'll mind my cut/paste.

Regarding your car, maybe you can try doing the following:

Purchase some plastic floor mats and a tarp or plastic painters drop cover for your seats. Duct tape the tarp (or plastic cover) to the seats and then throw a sheet or towel over the seat you will be occupying. Obtain some diatomaceous earth (or you can use powdered Borax) and sprinkle it on the cloth seats prior to covering with the tarp (or plastic). Also, sprinkle DE or Borax all over the carpets and then place the plastic floor mats on top of the carpet. After driving your car for the day, remove the towel or sheet that you sat on and put it directly into the wash. When you get ready to get in your car the next day, use a clean towel or sheet. DO NOT park under a tree. You might have to walk a few more yards, but try to find a place where the sun can "bake" your car.

Even if we could herd all 12 - 14 of my brain cells back together, I'm still not gonna understand that "par le vous francais", jib-er-ish. To go with my case of Morgies, I do have the esteemed priveledge of failing French for the entire year, no half measures hear.

Automotive update, I ordered the sticky backed plastic wrap and hope to have it B4 Halloween. It comes in several sizes but I ordered 2 rolls @ 12" X 200'. It was $23 a roll, with the shipping I think I spent $56 +\-. I got it throught Pro-Tect.com. Or call them at 1-800-545-0862.

I'll be the 1st fool on my street with plastic wrapped everything in my car. Maybe I should have Pro-Tect create a whole new line for us to use in our car's, like Vannila scented or maybe even with a hint of "Saw Dust" for us guys.

Bon Chance
