Default Taking samples to be tested

My consultant gave me a sample jar and a letter.he said to put anything that comes from my skin in it and take it to his tropical medicine students to check for parasites. I thought I`d leave it as everyone who takes samples gets told their nothing .
Some one I pm with here said I must be mad not to take up this offer. She said others would love the chance and i was being a selfish brat.
So what do I do. The only thing that looks like parasites are the nose morgs .Is there any use in taking a moving fibre in .I see him again in 2 weeks so this may be my last chance. I don`t want to put anything from my nose in there
I did feel like he was just doing this to keep me happy because he is a nice guy . Anyone got an idea what i should do about this

Carla have you got a good magnifying glass? I catch lots of fibres when I wipe my face, or sometimes a place where something is biting me, and then I look and see the fibres on the cotton wool pad. I put Kleenfree on the pad, but you could use hydrogen peroxide, that would bring them off. Saying that of course, I did take these fibres to doctors in Cambrisge and London and they held them at arms length and dropped them in a bag and said they would test them in the labs. The reports came back negative. I'm afraid because they don't corresspond to anything they've ever seen before, they don't want to get involved or even try..;<( However, as he's interested, you could take some like that with you and let him look at them with a strong magnifying glass. I have a really good one, I could ask A where he got it.

Carlster,
What do you have to lose? Give the kids something to do. Who knows, one of the radical, zealous students may take your back!

Kritts,get my back!!!What`s that mean girl ???

Hilly I have a good microscope somewhere. But the fibres are not usually seen as anything.I do cough up strange things .Dolphins unclear calls them.
Nothing to lose Kritts? Only a couple of kids .Social services are already thinking of Munchausen syndrome. Why thats easier to believe than me and the kids do have an infection is beyond me ??? .It might be the proof they need,if I take something in that is seen as household lint.
These students are studying Malaria and river blindess though and morgs seems so similar that i could have a chance. I could ask them to look up Morgellons images to compare them..Younger people are more curious and opened minded.
What should I do . I don`t know ??? carla x

Carla, don't you want my bug, could send you a few more interesting things too lol.... he'll never know they're mine, and not yours... lol you could look up Morg images and explain which ones you've found, even if you don't bring them to him.. My GP when he saw my fibres on the cotton wool pads, 'I have to believe you, I have seen them' I took my magnifying glass in with me and made him look at them. ! He's a sweetie. I give him eggs... not morg eggs lol xxxxx

Hey Carla,
sorry, I wasn't thinking about that situation. Will they find out that the students are checking it out? As you say, kids are more open-minded and if one or more are eager to find a new discovery, they may root for you and try hard to solve the puzzle (take your back). It would be so fabulous if something would come of it.

Krits you are a genius.I will refuse them any more access to my records then I`ll change gps, because he in on it with them.
I was tricked into signing permission .I won`t let that happen again
The result is none of their buisness then .
I will take your little bug along Hilly .I promise to look after him like hes my own. My gp would have me locked up if I took my fibres in to him.
Thanks girls, you are wonderful people love carla xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hey. Know this is a little old, but just a thought:

Most of the physicians who accept our samples in the States are using "McLabs" that are trained to look for well known parasites, organisms, and collagen formations, etc.

What may be different here is the clinical expertise of using a Univ. with an in-house tropical medicine Dept. Like everything else, it's a long shot... If the Dr. is asking with intellectual curiously, then why not?

Again, I know there's the concern of being perceived a nut. For me, it would really depend whether he knows enough about this and understands something may or may not be found, as opposed to: going through an exercise to "prove" to you that you "can" not be ill.

In any case, good luck!
Evan
