| Thanks 2mf, I am now looking forward to the Christmas holidays where I will now be so happy to indulge in organic dark chocolate which is low in sugar (found in the health food stores). I think that it will someday be discovered that rather causing severe asthma the Acid Mammalian Chitinase will prove to be the marker for the lung worms which are in the lungs of people who have severe asthma (lung worms are now being entertained as one of the causes of chronic fatigue syndrome--though not all doctors agree it is caused by lung worms there is some pretty convincing evidence that it may be). Why is it doctors/researchers are so dense? Duh. Anyway, thanks for your research in answer to my questions about chitinase--I think that those of us who cannot throw off morgellons probably have too little of this enzyme in our system which makes it difficult for us to throw off the parasite portion of this problem. I think if the chitinase enzyme were developed to take as a supplement this could help us throw off a least a portion of the onslaught from which we suffer. It was good of you to research this so thoroughly in answer to my question on this thread. best, tcm

| Hmm. Interesting.. With the chitirin: looks similar to the product that builds up in one metabolic disease like Gaucher. I had wondered awhile ago from what I was seeing if there could be a tie-in to Gaucher or some root disease like Thalassemia making us susceptible to such an unusual situation. |

| Nice response 2 manyfibres! Makes sense - heard something in the past a few doctors/researchers were saying there are proteolytic enzymes you can take to release fibrin out of the body. Apparently the fibrin protects the bacteria enabling it to hide from the immune system once the fibrin is removed the bacteria is killed as it has nowhere to hide and your white blood cells do the rest. Examples of Proteolytic enzymes are Bromelain (derived from pineapple) and Carnivora and can be purchased in capsule form. |

I really DO need the chocolate for my brain. hooray... lol Milly x |

| A list of EU approved sweeteners, along with their E numbers, can be found here. Britain sometimes allows additional sweeteners under on a temporary basis. Likewise, they will sometimes restrict sweeteners accepted by the EU. UK and EU makes strong distinctions between nutritive and non-tritive sweeteners and the restrictions for the non-nutritive category are much more severe. This article from 2002 explains the rational behind the restriction of Stevia: food.gov.uk. It's considered too sweet as a non-nutritive food. I'm assuming sweet flavors are looked upon as a means of securing at least a nominal amount of calories, and anything that could stimulate the same behavior towards something that could potentially have no sustenance is met with suspicion. That's definitely different from the way I think about food. BB |

| Very intersting, isn't it, that our government allows food and food substances and procedures, bio-engineering bases sole on the almighty dollar. Realizing, of course, that there are pros and cons to any national policy agenda, I certainly do appreciate the interests the UK and most other countries (a few exceptions...maybe China) have regarding the safety and security of their own people. Good for them. Kritters |

| 2manyfibers, I've just started reading your thesis regarding Morgellons (https://home.comcast.net/~morgellons..._Cause_web.htm). Very interesting indeed--especially your theory about rogue collagen being the cause of the skin lesions and itching/crawling/biting sensations. Have you ever considered a tie with the lymph system? Jonsie has already exlpained how lymph therapy has provided her with relief, but my family history of minor lymph related disorders started me thinking in this direction. Along with an apparent trend of immune disorders of one sort or another, a lymphatic connection seemed a plausible catalyst for this disorder as well. This article explains how some forms of arthritis may be tied to low antibodies that are unable to combat the callagen type II produced by lymph node cells. Yes, I've only just begun research so this may be referring to a completely unrelated process. Biology's always been my weakest subject next to mathematics. Thanks for your patience, BB |
