| Endocarditis (Heart Problems) Endocarditis is an inflammation of your heart's inner lining. The most common type, bacterial endocarditis, occurs when germs, mold or other microbials enter your heart. These microbials come through your bloodstream from another part of your body, often your mouth. Bacterial endocarditis can damage your heart valves. If untreated, it can be life-threatening. It is rare in healthy hearts. Risk factors include having: * An abnormal or damaged heart valve * A severe case of mitral valve prolapse * An artificial heart valve * Certain heart defects Symptoms include: Fever Shortness of breath Fluid buildup in your arms or legs Tiny red spots on your skin Weight loss Renal abscesses (Kidney problems) An abscess is a localized collection of pus in a hollow area formed by the breaking up of tissues. A renal abscess is one that is confined to the kidney and is caused either by fungal (mold) or bacteria from an infection traveling to the kidneys through the bloodstream or by a urinary tract infection traveling to the kidney and then spreading to the kidney tissue. A renal abscess can develop from a source of infection in any area of the body. Multiple skin abscesses and intravenous drug abuse can also be sources of renal abscess. Complicated urinary tract infections associated with stones, pregnancy, and diabetes mellitus may also put a person at risk for renal abscess. What are the symptoms of renal abscess? Fever Chills Abdominal pain Weight loss Feeling of bodily discomfort Urination may be painful and sometimes the urine is bloody How is renal abscess diagnosed? The patient often has an increased white blood cell count and bacteria often are present in the blood and urine. Cutaneous (Skin, hair and nail infections) The cutaneous mycoses are superficial fungal infections of the skin, hair or nails. Esentially no living tissue is invaded. Blastomycosis Method of entry into the human body: Simple breathing Areas effected growth or colonization: Sinuses, Lungs, Skin, Heart, Bone & Joint, Genitourary Tract This Fungi / Mold when introduced into the human body mimics a bacterial pneumonia and is commonly misdiagnosed as such. This laso has been linked to affect the human body in the following areas and manners: Acute Pulmonary Mimics a bacterial pneumonia Chronic Pulmonary Mass mimicking bronchogenic carcinoma, or fibronodular infiltrates Skin disease Either a verrucous or ulcerative lesion with an indolent course Subcutaneous Nodules Abscesses commonly associated with systemic manifestations. Frequently associated with inactive pulmonary or extrapulmonary disease. Bone & Joint Infection Most commonly affect long bones, ribs and vertebrae. Lesions are usually well defined Genitourinary Tract Infection Usually affects the prostate and epididymis. Can cause sexual dysfunction premature ejaculation and reduced volumes of siemen Other organs can be involved, including the Central Nervous System, Thyroid, Paricardium, Adrenal Galnds and gastrointestinal tract. Candidiasis Method of entry into the human body: Simple breathing Areas effected growth or colonization: Sinuses, Lungs, Pancreas, kidneys, Heart, Bones, Urinary Tract Candida spp. are the most frequent fungal agent causing cardiac infection both in adults and children. Candidal endocarditis is a severe condition that has been traditionally associated with an exceptional high mortality and recurrence rates. Candida pneumonia is one of the most challenging of all the Candida infections * The kidney is one of the most frequently involved organs in this form of disease * Imaging studies of patients with chronic renal candidiasis show renal abscesses in about one third of cases. Infection of the pancreas with Candida spp. is another form of intra abdominal candidiasis that was once considered extremely unusual for many years, but now it is being recognized as a more frequent problem. Acute Pancreatitis This may occur in pancreatitis including gallstone pancreatitis, alcoholic, traumatic, post-surgical, post-traumatic or idiopathic. Candidal infection maybe the cause of possible complications of pancreatitis. Candida osteomyelitis May involve any bone, however, the long bones are the most frequently affected in infants, while in adults the spine is most commonly involved. In order of frequency, the following sites are affected: 1. The spine (vertebral osteomyelitis). The lumbar spine (lower back) is the most frequently affected site. 2. Long bones. Usual sites are humerus, femur, fibula and tibia. (legs and arms, knees and elbows) 3. Sternum (chest and ribs) The involvement of this bone has been reported both in association with candidemia. Candidal osteomyelitis signs and symptoms include: 1. Localized pain. Vertebra with back pain as the most common complaint . 2. Soft-tissue swelling or drainage. Sinus tracts are commonly involved. 3. Fever. This sign is in half of the cases. 4. Gallbladder. Biochemical abnormalities seen in gallbladder inflammation. Fungus ball in the Urinary Tract This condition, sometimes called fungal "bezoar", can be caused by Candida spp. However, penicillium and Aspergillious have also been reported as the cause of fungus balls. Fungus balls are commonly associated with the following underlying conditions: * Diabetes mellitus * Nephrolithiasis * Any other cause of urinary obstruction Coccidiodomycosis Coccidioidomycosis is the infection caused by the dimorphic fungus Coccidioides immitis. Coccidioidomycosis is acquired from inhalation of the spores (arthroconidia). Once in the lungs, the arthroconidia transform into spherical cells called "spherules". An acute respiratory infection occurs 7 to 21 days after exposure and typically resolves rapidly. However, the infection may alternatively result in a chronic pulmonary condition or disseminate to the meninges, bones, joints, and subcutaneous and cutaneous tissues. About 25% of the patients with disseminated disease have meningitis Cryptococcosis The infection commonly starts following inhalation of the organism. The primary infection may remain localized into the lungs or disseminate throughout the body. Some authors have made the distinction between localized and disseminated cryptococcosis, based on the number of organs involved. However, cryptococcal meningitis can only occur once the fungus has reach CNS tissue from the primary point of entry. People and Conditons with Higher Risk AIDS Organ transplant Cancer (chronic lymphatic leukemia, Hodgkin's disease, chronic myelogenous leukemia, myeloma, lymphosarcoma, acute lymphoblastic leukemia in children, and others) Sarcoidosis Corticosteroid therapy Diabetes mellitus Others: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or lung cancer, cirrhosis, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematous, pregnancy, and splenectomy North American Histoplasmosis The lungs are the most frequently affected site and chronic pulmonary disease. Higher rates of occurence are noted in persons with preexisting chronic lung diseases such as emphysema and occurs most frequently in elderly men. All stages of this disease may mimic tuberculosis. Histoplasmosis may coexist with actinomycosis, other mycoses, sarcoidosis, or tuberculosis. Organs Involved: Lymph Nodes (glands) Bone Marrow Heart Adrenal glands Central Nervous System Gastrointestinal Tract (bowels) Eyes Skin Genitourinary tract (sex organs and urinary tract) You may also want to visit the Infectious Disease Society of America information treating for treating invasive mycoses. mm |

| And the relationship of endocarditis to Morgellons is...? Certainly it is starting to get more than a bit boring when one poster keeps posting to herself--post, post, post etc. All within a short time, two of them within the same minute. Better call in Ms. Marable.

My heart really goes out to you actually as I first started writing this I was a little pee'ed but as I kept writing i realize that it is this darn disease that makes people become bitter and hard hearted. It is the fact so many have went through many years of suffering and the result of that suffering is hate. I really feel sorry for you Tc, I have been there too, on the verge of committing suicide actually. If it had not been the mighty hand of God I believe I would of done it, as at that time I felt completely hopeless and helpless and to give credit where credit is due this site and the people on it have helped me greatly. And yes, even you and some of your older post and if you'll go back and read those you will see how different you sound now. You should decide in your mind that you are going to live everyday to the best of your ability's that for one day you are going to be positive about everything in your surrounding and everything you come in contact with. There is power in positive thinking and forget what i said about not posting I will post what my doctor thinks about the mold growing from the samples off my skin when I get back. I hope you feel better soon Tc noone deserves this disease. Smile BE positive Be Hopeful and prosper in your journey to being well![]() mm |

| So I thought you weren't going to read my posts anymore or did you forget? Listen, mm, look into your own heart, and try to understand why you and others recently on this forum think it is okay to write huge posts about information which quite often makes absolutely no sense as far as being connected to Morgellons. Or has already been discussed in the past. If you post information you need to explain its relevance. You still have not explained how endocarditis is connected to Morgellons. No, it is just plopped there, glistening in all its glory with no information to tie into Morgellons. And that's what makes it boring. I don't understand you at all as you make no sense whatsoever when you post to me. More rambling. What is this suicide stuff you keep bringing up? Here and in the last post where you said you were not going to read my posts anymore? I am sorry to hear that suicidal thoughts are a problem for you, but don't try to project your problems onto me. Suicide is wrong to me and it is not something I have ever thought about. I am sorry to hear that you have. The reason most people who are left here sound different is because posting anything with any real content on this forum is no longer possible. No, a recent group of people such as you clutter up the forum with post after post, rambling on and most often making no sense. It takes effort to interject anything else into these rambling posts (monologues)which lately seem to be less than the exception most would prefer. Maybe if you all could allow others to speak you might be surprised at what would be posted. Perhaps some of our posters who left after your group made this a very boring forum (post, post, post, post, post) would return. There used to be a lot of really great discussions, but no longer. BTW, you surely love to preach at others and tell them what to do. All I (and some other forum members) ask is that you and others like you quit posting so many huge posts of rambling information and allow others here to have a chance at forum in which all members are valued and allowed a chance to post. Unfortunately your good will fell on deaf ears in Drucilla. Please don't be discouraged and don't let the negativity of this one person keep you from posting. Consider it nothing more than what's to be expected from her and don't take it personal. there are many of us who want to hear what you have to say, whether or not in the format required by Drucilla or whether or not it's been mentioned before. There will be others who haven't read it and I believe everyone adds something when they post. Kritts |

| I forgot to add this bit of history about this song. Charlie Chaplin wrote this song himself for the last silent picture that he made. It was originally an instrumental song. I still love Charlie Chaplin and find him one of the funniest comedians who ever lived, at least early in his career, before the Great Depression.

| So if I have read this correctly.. this is a fungi/mold and the white tiny bugs I see and what is making other people around me itch are fungus gnats that are attracted to the fungus/ mold that is in my body. Does that fit the idea? Would make sense to me. John |
| |||
| John - I believe it is the fungal/mold spores coming off our body that makes other people itch. I had a few fungal gnats in my skin.. but none around me at the time other people were itching. I knew there were spores everywhere, as I got really ill coming in contact with it in my environment. I recently found mold in my showerheads. I've been showering in mold for the last 8 months or longer. My husband would just get really itchy coming in contact with this mold, and it would give me rashes and colonize in my skin, producing more black speck debris in my skin. ........ ........ and.... I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU, MMARSHA!! You've come a long way!! |

| Tonight, I had some friends over and we were outside. I was the only person who had gnats around me. I'm thinking fungal gnats. I then suggested we go inside and had some wine. Kritts |
