Default FUNGUS DEPT.

The toxin this releases could very well be a VOC....Volotile Organic Compound

You cannot see VOC's. It is a gas. In the mold world, moisture activates VOC's. The mold does not actually cause the illness. It is the toxins that are released in VOC's that are in the mold that does the damage.

Brain fog, anyone?

Now reading this article, it also is saying that majestic white pines (which we had TONS of those in Michigan--none I see here in Oregon, these days.) seem to always have this symbiotic fungus, AND they are EATING the SPRINGTAIL insects--now, where do I remember them from? Oh yes, They where coming out of my leg last week!!

I think It would be rather nice to be surrounded by a grove of springtail eating trees, frankly. If they are producing VOC's outdoors, this mold is completely dependent on this tree naturally--it is NOT currently related to our genetically altered anything, or to Morgellons and I don't expect it can leave its tree-symbiont and still survive, so therefore, aren't these small amounts of natural Voc's like cow farts (methane gas!!) in an open field--just dispersing into wide open air faster than they are produced?

Just asking?

Thanks for the boric acid test...ill have to try that on the newspaper also. My husband has sneezing fits after he reads it. Interesting that the boric acid brings the white worms out of the ground. Good time to try that experiment as this months full moon was named the " worm moon". My kids loved to go outside on warm nights at this time of year with a flashlight....once spotted the worms would tuck quickly back into their holes. They were the old fashioned earth worms. I can get the new fashioned ones out of my skin with baking soda. The advertisement on the side of the box....mix i part soda with 3 parts water to exfoliate the skin, has showed me over 30 lesions that were hiding. What i dont understand is how quickly they re-make their covering once the disolved soda is lifted out. Magical i guess. Thanks for the book idea, looks very interesting and puts a new image to being an artist in san fran (the path not chosen). Heres a book you dont want to miss...all the fun of mold and spores covering walls of homes, trees, and folks for a sci-fi entertainment ...The Taking by dean koontz.

SWF, after learning so much about mold and fungus this week -- thanks, by the way -- I'm realizing this may be the root of my problem. I live in a Manhattan high rise BUT I have a huge roof balcony that I had landscaped the summer of '05. Last summer, I was having an awful time with insects destroying my bushes and trees. I then noticed THOUSANDS of black specks in my wall-to-wall carpet (which has since been removed). After contracting this in August, I thought maybe the nursery had gotten my plants from one of the Morg epi-centers.

I had a horticulturist come last fall to do a major treatment on everything and he told me I had a mold problem, due to my watering system. Then, reading your post about mold attracting bugs -- and seeing that I seemed to be a magnet for any kind of bugs when I was outside -- makes a GREAT deal of sense. Also, in my other posts about mold toxicity, there's a link that describes the EXACT symptoms I have been experiencing.

So is it a chicken and egg thing: Did the mold develop first and attract the parasites? Oh boy, yet another layer of the onion!

Also, just want to say I totally understand why we've distracted you from your foot detox treatment. This disease is so isolating, given the chance to connect with others who understand what you're going through, I'd probably do the same.

well yeah, fungus is part of the problem of morgellons disease, a component of it rather. i have found that garlic, thanks to others posts in here, is an excellent natural anti-fungal. actually garlic is really good in so many ways, also antimicrobial, and anti-parasitic too. excellent for internal purification.raising the immune system in healthy ways also helpful also. bubba has many excellent ideas on this subject posted on this message board regarding this, and many others. rmember with herbs though to be careful. some can harm as much as aid. the purity of a product is always important too. hope this helps (LC).

I think more & more that fungus may be the most basic building block for the Morgellons' parasite--That it is actually a sort of slime-mold which then invades bacteria, nematodes, viruses, insects, and even other molds, and hijacks THEIR cellular mechanisms to become the truly nasty parasite that it is...

You can see videos of the the amorphous Morgellons' "worms" invading other things like insects on other internet sites. I think that when you get rid of the other factors, There is always some component of fungal/spore type piece to this puzzle. When I posted the treatment protocol from the doc on the newsgroup, he was using FOUR ANTI-FUNGALS in combination!! and getting a good response with that apparently. I finally decided to give up on my beloved thermarest bed mattress; because I am convinced that it is full of fungal spores, or Morgellons, and I cannot figure out how to truly completely isolate it, or sterilize it completely enough for me to heal 100%. I put an air bed up today, and I'll see how much difference that makes for me. Here is hoping.

good idea on the air bed dr. beverly, family dollar dollar store also has swank synthetic satin sheet sets, slidy but nice. they also have inexpensive satin curtains too! sometimes have the satin comforters also, but make sure the backing is tight weave or satin if can. i would like to buy either a natural or synthetic satin robe. hey think on the bright side folks, we can all either look like hugh hefner or a playboy bunny (LC).

Default Prototheca wickerhammi baffles doctor

I have been ill with systemic candidiasis and aspergilliosis for several years. Recently my lab tests indictated prototheca wickerhammi and my doctor's consult diagnosed mitochrondial dysfunction. Their recommendation was treatment with caspofungen but I cannot afford the loading dose. Any suggestions. Nice to see so many other folks are also "insane" with fungal disease. (just kidding) I was beginning to think I was a relic. I know others feel that they are talking to brick walls when trying to find solutions for fungal disease, especially that which has been acquired by inhalation.
