From your post, I thought you wrote (didn't realize was a cut and paste quote)
"According to authors Dirk Pearson and Sandy Shaw, it has double the effectiveness of Arginine at the same dosage. "

They wrote the book, "Life Extension" I read in the 80's (?) and stressed that sugar was the worst thing for health and weight maintenance among many other things.

They were a very unusual looking couple (but then many may think I am unusual looking also, so who's to judge ;-) but so smart. (He looked something like Howard Stern, if I remember correctly. Always wore that black leather vest.

Nevermind

NutraSweet Linked to Leukemia and Lymphoma

NutraSweet Linked to Leukemia and Lymphoma

In the first year after its approval, the FDA received over 600 consumer complaints about health issues.

Migraine headaches and dizziness, insomnia, joint pain, memory loss, hives, rash, abdominal cramping, hallucinations, seizures and even deaths were reported related to aspartame consumption.

Over 900 studies have been published on aspartame, including one in May 2009 in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.

This recent article investigated the link between formaldehyde and lymph cancer.

A study in 2007 on rats showed that aspartame ingestion caused formaldehyde buildup to such a degree that the rat's skin became yellow.

Since 1987, formaldehyde has been listed by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a probable human carcinogen.

Used as an embalming agent, formaldehyde has been indicated in birth defects, and in environmental allergies.

It has been shown to cause both lymphoma and leukemia in lab rats and in humans.

It is known that aspartame turns into formaldehyde in the body, but it has been thought that this formaldehyde was then being eliminated quickly.

However, a study in 1998 demonstrated that dietary aspartame binds to tissues in protein.

It was found in liver, kidney, and blood.

The report suggested that the buildup of aspartame was cumulative; that is, it continues to build up without being excreted, causing more damage over time.

This report concluded that "aspartame consumption may constitute a hazard because of its contribution to the formation of formaldehyde adducts."

Based on these findings, it is wise to avoid aspartame and artificial sweeteners.

Even sugar is a better alternative than the substitute. Drink regular sodas instead of diet, or even better, diet soft drinks can be replaced with club soda mixed with a few ounces of fruit juice.

Use honey or molasses to sweeten foods and to bake. Though aspartame has government safety approval, the facts and the studies suggest that avoiding aspartame is good for your health.

I was thinking how many of us have been eating or drinking this stuff over a longer period of time?...I have...Diet Pepsi..

I was on page 1 when I replied, didn't see your post about formaldehyde, I covered this in one of my blog posts

Formaldehyde (Tiny insects crawling over the eyes and nose?)

Let’s talk about a close cousin of Acetaldehyde and that is Formaldehyde. There is an amazing research paper out there on this, take a look at this quote:

Skin reactions: …chemical can be both irritating and allergy-causing…(EPA). A slight sensation of tiny insects crawling over the eyes, nose and pharynx (formication) is felt at 2-3 ppm. (Zurlo N, via OSH, NZ.) Contact with the vapour or solution causes skin to become white, rough, hard and anaesthetic due to superficial coagulation necrosis. With long exposure, dermatitis and hypersensitivity frequently result. Prolonged exposure may also cause cracking of skin and ulceration, especially around the fingernails.

I wont bother to post all the links but I could find a thousand posts from Morgellons sufferers stating that they are sure they have bugs or worms crawling all over and in their eyes and around there nose, it’s a very, very common symptom. I too have felt that sensation on my eyes, like a bunch of mites crawling across the surface. Depending on what is laying around in our body I believe that Formaldehyde is often times created internally as well as Acetaldehyde.

In fact, in that recent video (available on my blog) that was on "The Doctors" you'll notice the woman saying they're in her eyes, biting her eyes and so on, hmmm ..... Dr. Amin might not be so far off from the truth ...

Yes! MRC...I also had those 'bugs' crawling on my face trying to get into my ears, eyes and nose especially at night trying to SLEEP!! darn it!! ...lol....

I thought by then this might have something to do with the down blanket and down pillow I was using..so I dumped it and bought synthetic fiber
pillows and comforters you can wash and dry...and Voila! it got better!

Maybe there is a relationship to mites? Mites being attracted to the Morgs
bacteria and fungus? hmm..don't know for sure..just glad they're GONE!!

And yes...the Morgs 'attacked' my eyes...I had many floaters but could rid them with a special spray and colloidal silver. Although my vision is still not good..(half blind without glasses..lol)

And to Dr.Amin...well..I do personally think he could be somewhere right about the dental theory...as I believe Morgellons Disease is common with heavy metal toxicity...

I always tell folks here..Detox, Detox, Detox!!

btw...did you do the vitaminC / Salt protocol? just curious....

MrC -
Have you had your hormone levels checked? I just started taking 5-HTP - for depression/anxiety, but I had my hormones measured and my serotonin was HALF of the LOW END of normal. I have been taking it for some number of weeks and am finally starting to feel better.. plus I read that seratonin was a FUNGAL fighter.. I figure, what better time to start taking this stuff!
