| this may have already been posted. I received this e-mail over the weekend from Trisha Springstead.... Sorry in advance if it is already posted....thanks, Jilli Quote:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- American Academy of Environmental Medicine Calls for Immediate Moratorium on All Genetically Modified Foods OpEdNews » American Academy of Environmental Medicine Calls for Immediate Moratorium on All Genetically Modified Foods GM corn and cotton are engineered to produce their own built-in pesticide in every cell. When bugs bite the plant, the poison splits open their stomach and kills them. Biotech companies claim that the pesticide, called Bt-produced from soil bacteria Bacillus thuringiensis-has a history of safe use, since organic farmers and others use Bt bacteria spray for natural insect control. Genetic engineers insert Bt genes into corn and cotton, so the plants do the killing. Worst finding of all-GMOs remain inside of us The only published human feeding study revealed what may be the most dangerous problem from GM foods. The gene inserted into GM soy transfers into the DNA of bacteria living inside our intestines and continues to function.[xxvi] This means that long after we stop eating GMOs, we may still have potentially harmful GM proteins produced continuously inside of us. Put more plainly, eating a corn chip produced from Bt corn might transform our intestinal bacteria into living pesticide factories, possibly for the rest of our lives. When evidence of gene transfer is reported at medical conferences around the US, doctors often respond by citing the huge increase of gastrointestinal problems among their patients over the last decade. GM foods might be colonizing the gut flora of North Americans. OpEdNews » American Academy of Environmental Medicine Calls for Immediate Moratorium on All Genetically Modified Foods |

| I heard a radio show the other day that talked about a herd of cattle that were fed on GM corn. Everyone of them was dead within days . ![]() I thought this was worth posting . Tips for avoiding GM crops

This sure makes perfect sense to me. Why it doesn't make sense to the dept. of Agriculture, CDC, Monsanto (oh I forgot....what was I thinking?), FDA......is beyond me. Everything we eat has some microscopic critter on it that wasn't washed off. Our roundup-ready bodies now super-charged to attack these unwanted pests and their larvae, is a blind terrorist in our systems. Kritts |

| There was a recent article in SIS I couldn't reproduce without permission telling of how Germany and other European countries are banning GM food. Why not the US? (like we don't know the answer to that) Kritts |

| Probably the same reason the US doesn't ban hormones/antibiotic use in cattle raised for meat. Of course this also includes dairy cows. I know that Atkins, when nearly everyone dieting was on his low carb diet, used to tell people in his books that if they were not losing weight or had a long plateau from losing any that if they could afford it they should make a trip to Italy or Greece where the food was not subjected to such practices (perhaps this applies to all of Europe? Or maybe he was seeking sunshine LOL). I recently had some folks I know make a trip to Eastern Europe where they claimed they felt better as much of the food in restaurants was supplied by farms located around the cities instead of being shipped long distances. What a concept. Oh, yes, and this country banned GM foods.

| This article has been widely circulated. People have been linking GMO foods to Morgellons for quite awhile, and the theory really took off when it was discovered that agrobacteria (the agent used to alter the genetic structure of crops) is found in in the skin of people with Morgellons. Unfortunately, Dr. Citovsky never published the work. Dr. Wymore is in the process of replicating the findings and will publish them. Does that mean that agrobacteria CAUSES Morgellons, or is it an effect of Morgellons (i.e., have "we" been altered in some fundamental way that then makes us attractive to agrobacteria, bugs, fungus, etc?). To be determined!! A Moratorium on Genetically Manipulated (GMO) Foods SS |

| One of the worst aspects of GMO foods is that even the pesticides can't be "washed off". They are built into the seed and part of the plant. Wow. I can't imagine that magnitude of stupidity....or is it more sinister than that? SS |
