Nurses blogging about morgellons disease infecting more nurses and patients being diagnosed with POD bc of wrong diagnosis and medical treatments that don't work on Morgies. Sad that health care workers can't seem to get attention on this either....

Does anyone read this and think that could easily have been me .

Quote:
Last night we admitted a woman who was sooo manic. She was totally inconsolable for hours on end, finally they wrote her up some orders. I asked the patient if she would like something to help with her nerves and help her relax a bit, she refused. I got the nod from the RN to go ahead and grab her an IM because this patient really needed to calm down. The doctor had ordered 0.5 mg and haldol 1 mg, which i think is actually a small dose as this woman is pushing 300lbs. So i went down to the room with the needle, she got even more upset and combative, there was no reasoning with her at all. Men got on both sides of her, held her, i administered. She was still going on and on and on and finally asked what we gave her and we said ativan and haldol, which made her start up more. She started saying 'you can't give me ativan, i have an allergy etc etc.
We got it out of her that she gets a rash from the ativan. I went and checked the chart and sure enough, in the pages from the medical hospital she was in before coming to us, the allergy to ativan was listed. We monitered her for the rest of the shift, no rash or any other symptom was apparant. I'm willing to take responsiblility, I guess i'm just wondering how much trouble i'm in. I have never thought it was fair that it falls back on nursing that the doctor prescribed something she'shouldn't have to, i think it's just an honest mistake, like he wouldn't have done it if he had known...like i wouldn't have given if i had known. What am I in for and has anyone else ever encountered is situation? basically it was just passed on in report that she has an allergy and that it was administered, i'm going in at 3pm today and am wondering what to expect. any support is accepted

LOL, not at all abnormal, when I clotted 2 years ago I reminded the Dr. and nursing staff I can not have morphine or demeral bc I have edverse reactions, 1 dose will keep me up for 3 days and I can't stop moving!
WELL NO ONE LISTENED!!!!!!!!!!! GO FIGURE, MAYBE IT WAS ON PURPOSE!

Since I couldn't stop cleaning the hospitol room scrubbing with a toothbrush every inch of the place top to bottom 3 days straight lost weight bc I couldn't even eat that ment I would have to stop moving long enough to pick up food and chew.... this happens to me on tylonal pm too.
Energy pills don't have a big effect on me neither does coffee or espresso, and bad sugar just messes with my diabetes

Wow I just found this in one of the nurses discussions,Meg.
Doctors might be ignorant but the Nurses aren't at least.

Good post...this sounds paranoid, but I don't find it impossible that this disease could be government bioengineering run amok. Remember when it came out that the government was testing radioactive materials on those with MR in the 50's? For all we know, this could be testing of biological warfare. LOL, I sound like Fox Mulder.

The thread is 9 pages long and not one of them seems to think it is delusional.
Thats because they do the job because they care, unlike the doctors who do it for the cash.

Totally agree Carla!

...

Researching the chem. use on food products back to the 20's and 30's when Cancer was first recorded/tracking system started out.... to the chem. usage on and in food to sustain the import/export business, providing longer shelf time, larger produce grown from crops, crops more resistant to bugs, parasites, and fungus.... Wonder if the growth in chemicals aligns with the growing cancer/undetermined causes for deseases diagnosed, and the growth in symptomatic diseases that have been expanding at a rapid rate w/o a diagnosis....
Odd, looking at the diff. charts and comparing them to this one or to others found graphing the rates in all issues side to side....
Wonder what the overall stats. would be... if we knew they were not doctored by someone during the reseach process.... Wonder what the overall ratio's would state?????

XO,
Meg
Wish this was poss.. Maybe in my spare time I can overlay the most significant charts and provide a true answer to this question.... hmmm where to find the time.

Hey Meg,

Quackwatch, in my experience since I began researching natural remedies even before I had this, is IMO one of those websites that appear to be full of good information, when in fact their true purpose for being is to dispute the efficacy of anything not big pharma related. In fact, I believe their home address is near the offices of CDC, etc.

Hey, I just googled quackwatch.com (you should check it out) and this popped out at me:Dr. Stephen Barrett of Quackwatch Exposed In Court Cases, critic of lyme disease doctors and diagnosis And there are many more websites like it.
